Curious what our road record is in '17, '19 and '21 World Series. Has to be at least .500 I would assume.
2017 - Lost Game 1, Won Game 2, Lost Game 6, Won Game 7 2019 - Won Games 3-5 2021 - Lost Games 3-4, Won Game 5 6-4 overall on the road. To say nothing of the Astros being 3-0 this postseason away from MMP. If the Phillies sweep all 3 games in their ballpark, props to em.
Rain is starting to push to later for Philly. Wish MLB would just move the game up an hour so we could get this game in.
I don’t man, I know on paper we have the advantage for these next two games, but I just can’t shake this sick feeling in my gut. I can’t help but feel like we’re going to see some stupid, random s**t that is going to bite us in the ass. I really hope we just come out aggressive and jump on them early and take the crowd out of it.
I agree with this but lets not pitch him 3 in a row. It did work out, using him again instead of showing others. He was hit hard though and now it’s time to utilize another weapon out of the pen in game 3.
Unless it's changed, the chances of any precipitation being just a drizzle is high. It's certainly not a high chance for cancellation or suspension. https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/t...ies-world-series-game-3-halloween/ar-AA13ApYX
This is all I see across Reddit. They keep saying how we dont know what we are in for. Its almost as if they dont even have faith in their actual players but just hoping the fans are so loud and crazy that it screws us up. I hope we silence the HELL out of the crowd.
Yeah I don't get it either. I understand familiarity with a home ballpark and how usually teams do better at home than away, so clearly that has an impact, but to act like screaming and insults and hollering at the Astros will somehow get our pitchers to suck or our bats to disappear is beyond me; especially with the constant boos and hate for the last 3 years. If anything, the Astros are immune to the heckling and most players, except 5, weren't even on the team in 2017 so they probably don't even care since they know it's not about them.
Me no like the uncertainty that goes with rain potential in baseball. Not only does weather have the potential to impact the pitching staffs (regardless of the argument that both teams are affected), but you can’t convince me that broadcast partners like a marquee event like The World Series potentially being pushed out of prime time.
As if we haven't dealt with hostile crowds. If anything I feel like it fuels us and they will hate life when it does. lol
Well consider the source- Reddit is a great and credible avenue for baseball fans. Philly fans simply have no idea that they are not any worse, louder, or rowdier than Yankee fans or Red Sox fans. It's been over 10 years. They are ignorant of other playoff fan bases and have too high an opinion of themselves.
