Nah he deserves at least 1 yr where we arent tanking. His contract runs out after next year why 1 cut him 1 yr before his deal expires?
I wonder what our coaching staff is looking at to justify to these players that one is getting playing time over them, more playing time than them that makes them accept it. If anyone can figure it out, please enlighten us, because Silas will be here at least for one more year and if these inexplicable line-ups, rotations and DNPs keep happening then at least understanding it will make it bearable.
Really hope so because otherwise with literally anyone else we will most definitely pull it together and win too many games to tank.
I’ll take the Clippers….Silas loses to Memphis at home with 40% of their starters missing and to Portland without Lilliard.
I think he’ll survive the season but replaced in the off-season. I think free agency might be more of a dud than we think given how unattractive many of the top players are looking now, and a new high profile coach could be the big splash Tillman and the front office decide to make.
Do the spurs have 1st and 2nd year players littered on the floor. No. Ok then. Next yeah bad example for you. Talent means exactly nothing until a player fulfills it with experience and actually learns how to actually win at the highest level. The entire world is filled with talented basketball players. So what
1) The forum is full of fire silas threads, all sengun only fans 2) I gave many reasons why Silas is not good, but you are not interested to answer 3) Vegas has its odds on Spurs and Rockets, a professional opinion on expectation of wins, again all sengun only fans 4) Switch Sochan and Jabari, and you would say Bari is outplaying Sochan. Coaching matters, for rookies it matters more.
Popovich is just a better coach. He can make players play as a team. I think in todays NBA if you can get a team to really play as a team you could win a lot of titles
So much this. "Development" isn't just "put them on the floor with another team and a basketball." What kind of habits and culture do you want to develop in the org? Okay, lazy sloppiness and no personal accountability? Yee shall have it!
If supposedly your best player in the team (Green) does not consider loss as a loss and as a learning experience then imagine what the feeling may be for the coaches and the top office. There is no urgency to win so I hardly think Silas is on the hot seat.
If we get Wemby, then we fire Silas. If we don't get Wemby then we can retain Silas to suck more. After Wemby, it will probably take time before we get another generational talent. Can we suck for 2 more years? maybe. but we already have good players. way better than the Spurs. it just shows how important coaching is. Anybody as in anybody can coach a pick and roll.
I think he will. Believe Stone and especially TF are all in on the Wemby race. BUT, if the team continues to go backward and show dysfunctional chemistry they may panic and make a move. I doubt it, due to the potential impact VW could have on and off the court money wise. Hopefully they come together as a group, build on the bad regardless of the outcome. They can grow and still be in line to potentially land the alien.
