    Deserves it's own thread fellas

From my understanding Lula's office did a lot of good things for Brazil, specifically reducing poverty for many on his first run. Excited for the people of Brazil, and wish the man luck and what not.

A great result for Brazil. While far from ideal, Lula is a vast improvement over the "trumpish" madman, Bolsonaro.

We all need the rainforest in tact. It provides much of the worlds O2 and is the best carbon capture device in the galaxy.

Whatever your politics are, ousting Balsanaro and his bizarre “Burn the Amazon!!” campaign is good FOR YOU.

Now the rest of the world needs to act and do it’s part. The Amazon still isn’t enough.

So far it sounds like he’s not saying anything either way. I saw reports they his supporters especially truck drivers are already starting blockades and protests claiming the election was rigged.

It's a danger, no question about that. It's encouraging that some of his prominent supporters have declared that they will be strong in opposition of Lula in their legislature, implying that Lula did in fact win. At least that's something. President Biden, of course, congratulated Lula on his victory, as will other national leaders in other democracies.

    Here's a quote from Reuters:

One close Bolsonaro ally, lawmaker Carla Zambelli, in an apparent nod to Lula's victory wrote on Twitter, "I PROMISE you, I will be the greatest opposition that Lula has ever imagined."
