Good news: Rockets finally reached to Sun's first half assist number (albeit at the end of the game) Bad news : No one gives a f... for lack of assists at CF.
mmm , objectively it’s hard to say. I think it’s too early to say anything , but the defense has me excited . I think young bigs often have to get stronger . there’s no doubt he’s got size and athleticism , not too much strength . As much as you’d like to see it this year , I’m ok tacking up a lot of struggles at the rim with just being young and not strong . he’s not as explosive as some of the other young bigs , but he’s damn fluid . the one other positive so far appears to be drawing fouls . He’s getting to the Line OK despite being a rookie and that usually means you are getting a bit of disrespect
I think the team is actually a lot better than people are giving them credit for. Average age of the team is 23, most of these guys would not find consistency even on good teams until like their 3rd or 4th year. They are losing games in the last few minutes so that's progress. Last year these games were decided by the 3rd quarter and now they are learning the hard way that you have to be disciplined and steady to win games consistently. Hopefully next year they look to add some actual veterans that can be played alongside our young players.
Any coach other than Silas would make him look good and use his strengths. You're giving up on him too fast. He's only in his 7th game as a pro.
Doesn't help that all the lotto players drafted after Jabari look much better than him right now. At this point, Tari should just be starting and getting lots of shot opportunities to see if he can develop into a future star player. Instead, he's in Silas' dog house for some reason.
Lawndale scored more against Garuba and Smith at the 5 than he did Alp. He scored exactly 4 points against Alp defending him. Along with two free throws while Alp was on the court.
Turned out to be one of his more efficient games this season at 56.1 TS%. Bumped his season number to 52.9%, but league average this season is 56.9%.
This is on Silas period. No system. Putting players in disadvantageous positions. Having KPJ facilitate, when he should be scoring (what he does well) Green needs to move more off ball, Tari needs way more minutes.
The oldest guy out on the court for the Rockets today is Tate at 27 years old. The rockets are an extremely young team and the youngest in the NBA. It will be up to the coaches to put these players into a situation where they can succeed on the court. Do we have the coaches that can do that? These young guys will make mistakes and stupid ones too, but its up to the coaches to help the players learn from those mistakes. Help the players understand what they can do better and how they can do it better. Again, do we have the coaches that can do that? Right now any success or failure I will put on the coaches. Once the players get into there 3rd and 4th seasons and are still not showing any signs of growth then I will start putting it on the players.
No one moves. This offense is stand still and iso. When Green cut Alp found him, missed the dunk. This should be a staple in half court sets. But, Silas
Coach Silas got to go. Can’t change players but can change coach to discipline these kids. There should be at least 4-5 passes each possession. Also after getting pick please either pass it quickly or attack quickly don’t pull back and dribble before attacking. You are just letting defense setup.
