We don't need someone to come in, expecting the ball and taking shots from T-Mac & Yao. Expect some role players/average guys to come our way. Players that are not going to break the bank.
Obviously I wasn't implying "we" had control of the team, but maybe I needed to spell that out for you. Let me know if you're still confused, which is quite possibly the case.
Also remember that we don't play at the Summit anymore. Hope this message finds you before it's too late.

Ok...to clarify my post for those of you who need help following along. Many on this board are looking for guys with big contracts, name recognition, need for touches, etc., to come here. All I was saying is that we should look for the "average joes", guys who know their role and are not demanding.
On a more serious note, I hope Yao's FGA's go up. I don't know if he'll get more shots or less shots through this trade. One one hand, Cato didn't need shots so that heped Yao get shots. On the other hand, the new players won't demand shots yet because they haven't established themselves on the Rockets yet. They will come in and listen to JVG's orders. I hope Yao can shoot more shots per minute next season. More shots is expected since he will probably play more minutes. We need him to take shots at a higher rate.
I'm sure his FGP will go up. Defenses last year had a tendency to camp out on Yao, due to Steve's inability to get the offense going. I think with T-Mac and some role players, we will get into our offense much quicker causing defenses to stay honest. I don't think you'll see it take so long to get the ball into Yao this year. Teams aslo knew they didn't have to double our guards, or forwards for that matter, thus allowing more attention on Yao. I also think T-Mac will take some/a lot of pressure off Yao. Keep in mind that with the additon of Howard, we now have a forward that can score also, something we were sorely lacking last year. I'm pumped!!!!
you're pumped? yeah me too. just might be the most anticipated season ever. and i think we're doing right by waiting to go after role players that give the most bang for the buck. more Jimmy Jackson clones is what this team needs. the key thing like you say is that these guys will have to come in with the ability to shoot from the perimeter. thats why i think snow is last on their list. remember van gundy said he can teach any player to play good defense but shooting is something they just have to have.
