The problem with Fish, and his agent, no doubt, are the crazy contracts most of us didn't see coming this go-round. The other problem is that he gave up $3M+ by opting out of his deal with the Fakers. So he's looking for a bump-up, for sure. And the bump-up he'll be expecting to get keeps getting bumped up higher... for him, and any of the other "name' possibilities worth having. What I'm trying to say is that the money Fisher walked away from with LA is about what I think he's worth. And he wants more.

Some of our trade and cap gurus need to seriously look at a reasonable deal to aquire Daniels. I think he should move up as a target. I'd much rather pay Fisher money to Antonio. Daniels had an amazing year, for him, last season.

    Antonio Daniels:
    '03-'04 SEA 71 games, 32 starts, 21.3 minutes, .470 FG, .362 Downtown, .842 at the line, 2.00 rebounds, 4.2 assists, .63 steals, .08 blocks, .86 TO , .90 PF, 8.0 points

We could do a hell of a lot worse. He has a rep as a good defender, very athletic, terrific assist/turnover ratio, doesn't pick up stupid fouls, makes the occasional steal, has some size and he's excellent at the charity stripe.

Yeah, he would make me happy at the 1, with Lue as his backup.

You're right, the Rockets should have completely over paid for him. But we all know Les is just too cheap to pay someone Moochie, Maloney, Cato........type salaries.

Frick! The good PGs are dropping like flies....I'm still holding out for Jones, Daniels or Snow (order of precedence).

Last choice? Fisher. I'd still take him. But I think Rudy might talk him into staying.

I'm on the Jones band wagon. 2 year deal for something reasonable then pursue a 4/5 with whatever is left.

I trully believed we should try to get Sura cause his cheap and has good range with a-lot of court vision.

Remember the 3 overtime game that we almost lost to Atlanta last year. I was really impressed with his game!

Why the hell did we not offer more than 20-22 million to Barry?? We could have offered more with the MLE, right?!?!

He chose the Spurs because they have a better chance at winning the championship than we do. The Rockets still have questions marks even when they add a couple more pieces.

    1. Will Yao run out of gas at the end of season, if he does we have no chance.
    2. The Rockets are still looking for his ability to dominate games on a consistent basis.
When all said and done it depends on Yao to take the Rockets to the promise land and he haven't reached that stage yet.

Will, I think you are right. We didn't want to tie up our roster with long contracts. I think we are looking for reasonable contracts at reasonable lengths. There is no reason to tie up a lot of dollars and years to a player unless they are going to be a CORE player with Tmac and Yao. That's probably what they were thinking.

We might be able to find some bargins with the MLE with players such as Mike James, Charlie Ward, Bob Sura, Lindsey Hunter, Damon Jones to name a few. They probably all could be had for HALF the MLE.

I think were we COULD make a dent though is with our T.E. That's where we could add a solid rotation role player for this season.
