On the bright side... We may get Verlander to opt in at the $25 mil now

Dodgers series, we stole one of the first two like the Phillies just did to us.

Braves and Nationals we lost. No need to mention those.

It’s stupid; you play 162 games and teams like the dodgers and braves who win 100 games and more get knocked out early by anyone

OK looking at Wikipedia, they had a 5-0 lead with 1 out in the 7th. The Starter then gave back to back singles. Baker then pulled him. It went downhill from there.

99% of astros fans were objective. most were worried to be playing a hot NL east team again. you and that fool yolo saying "hey guys see the phillies are tough" is like the most obvious thing ever considering the phillies made it to the WS the way they did. they also have a top 5 payroll so they should be damn good

The point is those were competitive series and some people here act like the Astros are about to roll over and already writing them off is silly.

If this team does not win the WS this year, then we should just get rid of Altuve, let Verlander walk, trade Bregman, and build around Pena and Alvarez.

Altuve is snake-bitten and is a shell of himself since the trashcans were discovered.

Bregman is good and on an upswing, which means its a good time to trade him.

    Our non-Verlander pitching is great.

    The other guys are irrelevant.

He was expected to decline and fetch around what?

If we lose this series, I'm going to pray he declines that and we move on.

They won game 2 of the WS last year with an open roof. Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful but apparently the decision was already made for it to be closed. Temps would drop in the 50s during the game and you can't have Houstonians in 50 degree weather.

Crap. I forgot about that. I think he still opts out. Unless the Astros get to Game 5 and Verlander sh-ts the bed again. Then any team with title aspirations would be terrified to pay him 30+ mil. He'd guarantee the opponent 2 wins in the World Series.

I'm going to mention those because it proved this team doesn't just roll over, they fight back, no matter the hole they are put in they fight back.

To be digging their grave down 1 is silly. Period.

    I'm just completely despondent.

How did we blow that game... I just don't trust this team in the WS. Feels like it's an impossible task.

Would I be surprised if we won the next 4? No. But as a fan I feel utterly defeated right now. I want this more than anything. Please deliver Astros.

I wonder who is the dh tomorrow, him, Diaz who's also struggling or Hensley the rookie. Or dare I mention, Dubon.

Can someone explain why dusty baker refuses to pull verlander in the middle of an inning?

we got away with it against Seattle but the Phillies are a different beast.
