    From your article

The Pelosi home in the wealthy Pacific Heights neighborhood has been the scene of several protests in the past few years. After Nancy Pelosi was seen on video getting her hair done at a salon while many were shut down during the coronavirus pandemic, stylists protested outside with curling irons. Members of the Chinese community protested outside recently before Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan. And during debates over the federal stimulus package protesters scrawled anarchy signs in black paint across the garage door, along with “cancel rent,” and “we want everything.” They left a pig’s head on the driveway.

well that seems politically motivated. Not some drug addict looking for some easy loot.

How much time until right wing echo chamber says this was a false flag by deep state.

I mean to be fair the left hates Pelosi almost as much. So I wouldn't be surprised if the attacker was some ultra leftist also.

You can call out those on the left, but can’t keep your own house in order, typical. That’s the difference between Democrats and Republicans…we still have integrity vs the bullshit you spew. You see a rival and I see an old man who was beaten for no reason. Go crawl back in your hole…

    Insider trading:
    • It's illegal
    • It's immoral
Right off the bat, those are two things we don't want in our leaders
    • It makes being a public servant profitable while in office
I have no problem with anyone making an extra buck. And you can leverage your celebrity and status via endorsements, public speaking engagements, book writing, whatever. But if insider trading is acceptable at the political level, then it makes it a lucrative job. These aren't things that should be jobs. Political office should be an honor and a privilege, not a career, even if you do it for 50 years.

Curious if SF has a cashless bail policy and if so if this assailant will use it.

If they do I would expect him to be let out soon.

I think people should go to jail based on their prior history and if the alleged crime was violent. I don't think people should be in jail because they can't afford not to be out of it

I agree with all of this, but how is it hurting people out here?

How does it stack up to everything Pelosi has done to actually help people out here?

This is not about if it's right or wrong, it's about him even bringing it up in this situation.

Don’t take everything at face value it was a general statement. I’m glancing at this thread and making comments as I go. My point is SF has a ton of issues mental, monetary, etc and that might be the reason behind such an attack.

We have morally suspect people representing us? These people should be paragons of virtue.

Academic, I know. But our elected leaders shouldn’t be breaking the law. I don’t care if they all do it. It’s wrong.

And if our elected officials are making decisions based on personal gain, the system is broken.

Next people are going to be saying it was OK for the Astros to cheat because everyone did it.

Spoilers for House of the Dragon but I keep thinking about the scene in the finale where....

Aemond Targaryan was taunting Luke on his bigger dragon and then lost control of his dragon, and the dragon basically started a war between the two factions by killing Luke on accident because he didn't understand that he couldn't really control his dragon
    .

You MAGA guys on the right, and ESPECIALLY you guys who try to seem reasonable but are just closet MAGA fans.... have no idea what you are unleashing with your advocacy for anti-democratic extremism. Courting someone like Trump who is a clear autocratic fascist who will weaponize violent extremists will lead to... well... violence, and much more to come.

You cannot control a dragon, and you cannot control violent extremism, or just think you guys can just say.... "well I like this part of MAGA, and that part... BUT NOOOOO... DON'T YOU DARE BLAME ME FOR THAT!!!".

When this stuff happens it's on you guys. You cannot control what you as Americans have courted, and voted for knowing damn well what is coming.

So go F-ck yourselves on this rainy Friday.

Ok you seem to be on a bit of a soapbox here, I don't know where you are going with this.

I believe the same thing as you but I also realize the reality we are dealt and I comment accordingly.

The system has been broken since it was implemented, elected officials have been making decisions based on personal gain since the beginning of time, and that includes the U.S.

Why the hell are you bringing the Astros into this?
