What is the bigger issue the coaching, execution or both?

Definitely coaching. Anyone who watched the Silas interviews from training camp will know he doesn't even care about fielding a proper offense.

He said that this team is too young to run a proper offense so he just told our guys to jack up shots in transition.

 

Anybody who says coaching is an idiot

 

The biggest issue is christian wood doesn't like to set picks and doesn't properly execute the pick n roll

I think the development and focus on Porter more than Green is a huge part of it.

I get that the Rockets saved Porter's life. I'm happy for him. I'm happy he got his money.

But he's not the future of the Rockets. Green is.

 

It's both, but good execution comes with good coaching, so coaching is to blame.

 

It's injuries. Fernando not being in the lineup hurts the offense because we don't have a true lob threat for p&r sets. Tate has been out too. We also don't have a true pg that can run the offense right. Silas isn't the problem

It's a bit of both, but I lean more towards youth who are having a hard time executing due to lack of experience.

I'm not really surprised so far as I had my expectations grounded in reality instead of fandom. We have a brutal early season schedule that's going to skew things. I'm waiting to see how things are by All Star break.

 

Both. Young players so a lot is to be expected. However...

veteran leader EG is a terrible on court example and eats up minutes, reps and shots.

Tate is not the future.

KMJ is undervalued and utilized.

Green and KPJ should switch roles.

All of that is on the FOH/Coaching.

On the schedule, when a team is bottom tier, even the "mid tier' teams are considered tough opponent (a loss). And when the season starts, not every NBA team (even the good ones are ready), that why we've seen some unusual upsets like Blazers, Jazz and Spurs beating good teams (even on the road). So it can be done on by the bottom teams; except Rockets acted more like Pistons, Thunder and Magic, instead of Jazz, Blazers and Spurs.

On the tank or not tank; I'm not on twitter so I guess I'm spared of the over-reactions, but the tanking crowd and want to win crowd can be two segments of fan base. I think just because both camps are voicing / shouting; they can be different groups of people and not necessarily lumped in as people with contradicting opinions.

Lastly; I agree it's not all on Silas. But if the players is having a hard time retaining, fair or not; that's still going to be on Silas. Head coach is ultimately responsible for everything on the court. Vogel was a fall guy for the Lakers, everyone knew it but he still was scapegoated. Tibs got flack over the summer by Knicks media about many things, but as the Knicks come out winning and sharing the ball, lot of those media guys are walking back their opinions. Spurs roster is technically worse than ours, but Pops got his team 3 road wins. Will Hardy with the Jazz, getting the "outcasts" new vet role players to string up a bunch of wins. Point is the head coach is still ultimately accountable: credit or blame.
