Lol tbh I forgot we started 1-16 last year...but you need to wait up, 1-16 is still very possible with how this team has played and the schedule they have.
Until the team finds some structured plays to run, gets a PG with vision, and the rooks beef up enough to not get wrecked by Lauri Markkanen we cant talk about the play in tournament. That was never going to be this year. I need to see development out of TyTy and Nix needs to catch the next train.
Even the most outspoken tankers are winning more. By accident, or effort. But it makes you think how long we can go without having one of those. Maybe there are stats to debunk this, but the on court product looks bad.
They haven't hinted - it's fact because after this year's draft the Rockets traded their first round pick to OKC in 2024 and have a pick swap with OKC in 2025(remnants of the Westbrook/Chris Paul trade) so the reward for losing is gone....although worth noting we do want Brooklyn to implode especially in 2024(hey, Kyrie's contract expires in 23 - coincidence?) because we own their first round pick that year and could potentially get a decent pick in a swap with them in 2025...and frankly they have a ton of cap space coming up and likely 3 years of lotto picks to build around so if we STILL need to tank after all the draft picks we have collected between 2020-23, then we are doing it wrong anyway because we should have considerable player assets by then.
We will be 1-16 if we keep giving more minutes to Nix - that much is true....and yes, Nix will save us if the goal is to get one more crack at a high lotto pick this year.
