Plus, the honey mustard dip at Saltgrass is no joke.

It’s not so much about trying to entice players with a new practice facility. It’s more about not turning them off to the Rockets because they seem like cheap asses who won’t upgrade their facilities with the rest of the league.

Companies like Google have state of the art offices with a lot of perks, you don’t think that improved employee retention? If anything, these millionaire athletes are used to being in nice places, and would be even more turned off by having to be in a dump 24 Hour Fitness style practice facility every day.

I think facility quality is a negative motivator in recruiting.

Nice facilities don't really attract players. What player wants to play for a team because they have great facilities? IIRC, Mark Cuban was the first owner who tried to pamper players with nice facilities and other perks. Did that make the Mavs an attractive destination for players? Not really.

Bad facilities, on the other hand, may deter some players from wanting to come because it shows the ownership's priorities in taking care of his men.

Chandler Parsons and Christian Wood both signed with Dallas specifically for the training facilities.

Good point here, the current facilities have a track record of weeding out our trashiest of trash players. It's best to keep it as is.

How are u a top 10 most valuable franchise, and still choose to have the worst facilities in the entire league?

No one is saying the Rockets need the best facilities available, but they definitely shouldn't have the worst.

The other component of this is that if the court and all are that old and meh as the appear in the pics, how do the facilities for the the trainers, weight room, strength, post-game recovery, injury recovery compare to other teams?

Like why put players in position where they have to get those other types of health maintenance elsewhere no matter what it is. Why not just have really good facilities so they can do it all in house and so that they don't have to feel they have pay for all that out of their own pocket ( a la locker room soft drinks in Moneyball).

If those are also as bad that definitely can put the team at a disadvantage compared to other franchises. Also it just give players an reason to doubt and question Fertita's real intentions and his desire/heart. Why give FA's a reason to doubt at all? Especially if ideally you want to win, win big, and win consistently.

FYI, someone on Reddit posted a month or so ago that Fertitta was taking bids on a new practice facility and all bids were due in by August or something. I believe that person also stated the location would be by Memorial Park where the Landry's distribution center is (he gave the address for the plans) (near 610 & Old Katy Rd.)

As usual with the Internet, I don't know if it's true, but I've heard at least 1 out of 10 things on the Internet usually is partially true.

Tilman needs ask Brett Favre how to fleece the government to pay for a practice facility.

I’ve never heard one player complain about the practice facility. It’s an indoor basketball court. What more do you need?

    I’m not Tilman.

    (shout out to haif)

Personally like this spot better than the rumored Old Katy spot but things are heating up
