I remember the emotional devastation that series and another which I don't remember now. But the details are fading. The first two times we were eliminated, I was proud we made a good showing after not even being a contender, ever.

 

Astros were 2 games out of first place on September 10, 1969 and then dashed any hope by finishing 6-16.

 

I was at game 5 against the Phillies. My first kick-in-the-junk loss.

 

Yankee-esque finish

 

86 Mets series is what I couldn't recall.

 

The 1980 series sucked so hard. I was crushed.

1986 sucked too but we never had the mets on the brink of elimination. If I recall correctly, we had a 2-1 series lead against philly and lost it. The final game 5 was a heartbreaker 8-7
