I think KJ is on the trade block so they are gicing him minutes to show case Last night he was ass..forget about his shots not falling, his defense was nonexistant...
I really liked that Martin got more minutes in the preseason and was looking forward to him getting more time in the rotation at the start of the year, but the positives we saw in the preseason have just not been there in this four-game sample size. Aside from the Milwaukee game, he hasn't played well, and his advanced stats are pretty awful. It's a small sample size, so hopefully he plays better with time. But if not, I think his minutes may end up getting reduced further and/or I won't be surprised to see him dealt.
His defense has always been meh or bad. He is good at weak side blocks, but that's only so valuable for a SF because he'll only be in position to make such a block maybe half the games he plays. I've moved on from him mentally. Obviously best case scenario is he gets better soon and sticks around so that is my preference, but I don't think that's realistic.
Too slow to guard the perimeter and not strong enough to guard the post. And his shot hasn’t been consistent this season. Way to make prove yourself case KJ
Even with him getting more playing time he doesn't stand out. U see usman and Eason hounding balls. U see kpj iso plays, green 3s. Sengun savvy moves. Eric Gordon and his btching when he gets foul. Smith blank stare and his movement on defense Idk kmj doesn't seem to b noticeable.
It's really head-scratching why Mathews plays anything more than a few garbage minutes a game. He should be sitting at the end of the bench next to Boban. I think the two dudes have good chemistry. I like both of them.
KMJ is better off the bench imo. If we're show casing him, he needs to be playing against bench players. Also, he and Tari seemed to work well in tandem from what I can recall.
Rockets had like 10 available players and 1 Boban. It's way too early to scale back to the playoff rotation. Need to save it for spring
I'd be open for a trade of KJ Martin to DEN for Christian Braun if they were down. Braun has the Jabari mentality. He's a fierce competitor. Hell, I'll throw in Mathews for free.
I think he has the Ryan Anderson syndrome already. Matthews knows he has to make his shots. If he doesn't, he will be benched and possibly be traded.
I'm curious if the refs or the Rockets organization looked into this play. KJ Martin could have suffered an incredibly devastating injury from Kelly Olynyk undercutting him.
So, can we trade KJ already? His shooting percentage drops each year, at this point we'd be lucky to get a late 2nd Rounder for him. Dude has missed like 8 point blank dunks this year. I'm tired of watching him. I don't even want to see him on the bench.
I think Tari is the answer there. From what I'm seeing so far, the lineups should be: PG - NOT KPJ SG - Green SF - Tari PF - Jabari ..C - Sengun Bench players: 1. KPJ 2. Fernando 3. TyTy 4. Garuba Move On: 1. KJ 2. Gordon (only because he doesn't fit the timeline otherwise he would be first off the bench) 3. Mathews (Just a streaker player) 4. Nix (Cause he's been terrible)
No, you broke it. KPJ to the bench. I want a pass first, shoot second point guard. He's a shooting guard.
