Hate is a strong word buddy. He needed to chill bc his arguement was irrelvant. I HATE that stiff their nose in other people business (wink wink)
I read that the Mavs, Pacers, Heat are all looking to trade for Shaq could the TE help any of them and get us a back-up center?
Depends on what is the definition of stiff. You compared him with Shaq in turns of moves which is not fair. Please compare him with other stiff who are still in service in this league. Please run a report of him vs. Shaw Bradley Calvin Booth Ostertag Michael Steward N'diaye, Mamadou Jim McXXXX (I forgot his name) Olowokandi, Michael MacCulloch, Todd and check their W-4 of last year
Just watched the CNT vs Canada NT game. Although Bateer didn't have a good shooting day, he has some beautiful assists, especially for Yi Jianlian. He often lured two defenders to him, then dished the ball to Yi for easy layups or dunks. Here is the link for the game, mms://nc.sina.com.cn/1/sports/2004/07/nl0709.wmv
Lets bring Patrick Ewing out of retirement and make him our backup center. Reasons: He knows JVG's system. He looks to be about his playing weight when he retired. He has a good outside shot for a big man. He plays well with Yao. He probably would work cheap. LOL Menke Bateer - Please
The reason Eddie Griffin will never be in a Rockets uniform again is because all of the smack he talked about the Rockets when he was picked up by the Nets. He had the audacity to call them "groupies" when the Rockets stood by him through his ridiculous predicament. Someone earlier made the comparison between EG and Rodman. I'm not a fan of Rodman's antics, but the man did produce the boards and played some solid defense. We were developing EG and he decided to go in the opposite direction. And I would always take Mengke Bateer over EG any day.
Check out the video below (china vs croatia), you'll see Bateer is not that slow at all. I'd say he is a lil faster than Yao in running the court. And he is very physical, has a decent postup game. And he is known to have a good shooting touch, even from outside. He gets 4 or 5 assists a game in the tournament. He seems smart on the court. He is listed 6'11", and has short arms. I'd say he is good enough to be a decent backup center for the Rox. See for yourself. His tenure in the league so far has suffered from communication problem and injuries. mms://nc.sina.com.cn/1/sports/kd200712zgkl1.wmv mms://nc.sina.com.cn/1/sports/kd200712zgkl2.wmv
If Bateer is your backup at 5, your are doomed. The guy is too slow to do anything in this league. 5 minutes a game is fine, but back up for Yao needs a solid 10+ minutes, and he is not capable of doing that. He would have been fouled out within 5 munites.
He got 21pts and 11boards in the last game against Croatia when Yao was out due to injury. He was almost Divac alike in the tournament in setting his teammates up.
Argument irrelevant? The only response you could offer was to insult his spelling when it was obviously a typo...doesn't seem like much of an argument (notice that there is only one "e" in argument).
Okay, four pages on a player that isn't too great. I guess I will play. Why not take him. What is the minimum? 750K, or something? not bad. He has a big body, he can bash some people in. He can also shoot pretty well from what I remember in the World Championships in '02. If I was coach, I am not exactly asking him to put up 12/8 rebounds in 25 minutes. More like 4 points maybe, 5 rebounds, and five hard fouls, in 8-12 minutes.
