Jabari Smith is going to be just fine yall. He is 19 and there's a big adjustment going to the NBA

I'm liking what I am seeing from him

Double double and 2 blocks but his shooting still sucks

i was and believe I noted in here once or twice. Shooting bigs don’t always translate.

I liked his play tonight, though again without shooting.

one thing that has DEFINITELY stood out so far is his dribble game. It’s not bad. It’s not great or creative or anything but it’s capable.

there’s the mold of an all star finished product there. But it’s so raw it’s crazy.

it’d be nice to get him some dunks/layups

I cannot say he is not a all star, if he was hitting his wide open shots people would be calling him a all star

Without elite shot creating ability, Jabari won't ever be the superstar that some think he will be. He has a high floor as he possesses skills that highly sought after in the league but doesn't have quite the ceiling that other players might have.

The thing is that if Green ends up being that superstar, then we will have an excellent complementary piece that plays great defence and shots the ball extremely well.

It should not surprise you in the slightest that a kid who turned 19 this summer is not stepping immediately into the NBA and dominating. That’s the whole point of drafting him, to develop him into his potential, which we hope to be a high level player.

We should give him time but Bancheros, Ivey and Murray is tearing it up. He need to work on dribbling to the basket and post up moves. He should be a free throw magnet if he drive to the basket like….Bancheros. Sometimes I wish we drafted Bancheros or Ivey.

Giannis averaged 6.8 points and 4.4 rebounds his rookie season. He's now arguably the best player in the league. Jabari's shot is already there. As long as he keeps working on his dribbling, body and confidence then sky's the limit. It's just going to take longer than most fans would like.

Much better effort today with 11 rebounds. Right now, Bari is not shooting well, but dude has the makings of a great shooter by his 3rd year. After the game, Bari talked about transforming his body and game similar to MVP GA. You guys remember us making fun of the "Greek Brick"? Years later, who is laughing now?

Critize him, but stop making conclusive statements on Bari's upside after a grand total of 3 NBA games. Lol

This guy is going to be such a beast. To think we have the 9th youngest player in the NBA, workhorse in the gym and on the court, monster defensive potential and looking like he will finish his career among those with the most 3pt makes in NBA history.

Let the the insecure boys keep talking sh*t, it's awesome bump material. You're not going to get a highlight-friendly player to soothe your share finger. This time you're going to have to use that thing in your head and do some math. What happens when you combine lots of 3pt makes and excellent defense which also results in transition points and spacing for your teammates?

Oh and he's going to do it. He's going to hit 8+ 3pters in at least one game this season and it's going to break all the stats nerds' computers. In that game, he'll have one of the highest impact scores for a rookie in NBA history.

That's just such a bunch of nonsense to dismiss valid criticism that many ppl gathered after watching most of his ncaa games and voiced pre-draft already.

Who is the insecure one, a person able to notice weaknesses and room where a player has to clearly improve, or the people that call out everyone as a hater and make up ridiculous strawmen to absolve Jabari of every criticism right now?

And none of this is bump material, we are clearly saying he can turn into a great player, but needs more time to adjust and is more raw than many here wanted to admit.
Absolutely no one is saying Jabari will be a complete bust and never have good games.

I don‘t think many people expect him to become a superstar. More of a 3d star on a team. People are still so high on him, because he solves problems for your team. You can pair him with any other player without worrying about fit. And there is very little chance, that he is a bust. Worst case he will be just a 3&D player with great length, effort and work ethic.

So you need a guy to create a game winning shot, you give the ball to Green. Jabari will be there also, but either to receive a pass and knock down that 3 or to create space. And I am not too down on Jabaris shot creating ability. He needs to continue to work on his fadeaway and step back - once he has them down, he should be able to shoot over most people - or drive by guys that defend him too cloesely.
