You realize the Biden has been consistently calling to "fund the police".

I can tell you this, the vast vast vast majority of democrats do not want to defund the police. A larger percentage want police reform. I personally am for increases in police budgets but not so they can buy military hardware but rather hire better cops. The problem isn't with policing but rather who is getting hired. There's no reason police forces can't be expanded to include people with other skills that can be useful in deescalating situations.

Biden has been pretty no nonsense. He's done a really good job at reaching across the aisle given the state of polarization of this country. He deserves criticism on Afghanistan for sure, but outside of that, he's been solid.

And how long will the petro states like Saudi Arabia turn down money just out of political spite and preference to the corruption of MAGA? I suspect come December 1st OPEC will suddenly have a change of heart about cutting production.

Washington is awash with Saudi money to play games with our democracy but in the end, the America is still the best marketplace in the world and even MBS will miss it if he doesn’t already.

But Biden could and should lead the charge along with Congress to ban exports of domestic oil like has been done in the past under Republican presidents. The US oil billionaires shouldn’t be allowed to make money hand over fist selling domestic oil to China or wherever while the US marketplace is best over backwards by some a$$hole who gives 2 billion dollars to Jared Kushner for god knows what.

Maybe carve out an exception for NATO countries or something.

Either way it’s not like the oil supply isn’t there… it’s just not being sold here for politics and profit but that’s not sustainable and gas will be relatively cheap long term as long as the demand for it continues to decrease in the future with electric, hybrid, and more efficient cars.

 

Trump did not fill it. There was les in it than when Obama left. Do a modicum of research.

 

It definitely gets on my nerves when someone posts a picture of 2020 gas prices vs 2022 gas prices, as if there wasn't some reason for the 2020 gas prices.

 

We're producing about 1.4 millions of barrels of oil a day more today than we did during Trumps last days in office.

As for the Strategic Reserve, Trump did not fill the reserve like he says he did.

"When he took office in January 2017, the SPR contained 695 million barrels. When he left office four years later, the SPR contained 638 million barrels. So not only is the claim of filling it untrue, but the level of the SPR actually declined while President Trump was in office."

This is also just because of market forces. It's not like any president had anything to do with this. Oil was low (sometimes negative) back then because demand fell off a cliff. Now it's reversed.

This is what pisses me off, the Dems should do more of getting these types of facts out, I hear this every once in a while, but we should be talking about this more as well as other topics, not just abortion.............once again the messaging sucks for the dems.
