Sengun does not have strong handles and his effectiveness depends on how good the guard is and if the ball is moving around well. JC hardly sees anyone else on the floor. It seems like his main skill is to attack the rim when possible and I don't see much else. It would have been more promising if there was any hint of a natural connection between jc and sengun. So

    1) I agree Bruno has performed well, but I also think Sengun should get some of his minutes with the starters anyway
    2) the backup guard is a major problem, and lack of coaching does not help either

Yes, he is going to play with the starters for some minutes no matter what. You still have to find a way to fit him. So why not do it at the start of the game to avoid the demerit perception instead of later in the game if this season is for experiment and development anyway?

Not being able to shoot is his huge deficiency. It has no one to blame but himself. I know if he doesn't develop a reliable shot, he will be a bench player on a good team.

I hope that Alperen gets a trade to an other team. You say his practice performance and Pre Season performance was not good... This guy was not really on holidays after last season. And now he gets the punch of Silas in his face!! Bruno made it not bad. This guy made the best what he can this night but if you want the best Alperen Sengün, you must believe as coach. He have to believe in Alpi!
You are waiting month for the first season game and you think that you now be the starting center... and this time is the 4th center of last season the starter and you come again from the bench. This feeling is not good for a player. But i know that the most of you give a **** about this! There are a lot of "superstars" in your team who take so much bad shoots... Thats for me also a Turnover! Guys who are in good position dont get the ball. This guys are not better for me.
Its really sad to lose a game with stats like this. Houston took 8 shoots more then Atlanta. So if you think about that Houston took so much Offensive Rebounds and much TO was the chance to make points more then Atlanta.

I'm just saying - if this is your 'center of the future...' - the future is now - lets figure it out.
Obviously Bruno is better today than Sengun... if our goal is to win games today - then by all means...

if he's being a malcontent or lazy or something - then let him sit... but if we're talking 'fit issues' - lets deal with it while we have the luxury of not gaf about wins...

    jus sayin...

Or MAYBE Alpy isn't the only player on the team, and developing other players works better with Bruno out there hustling

    jus saying...

It is absolutely putrid so far this season.

For the life of me I cannot understand why after every single year, they do an entire remake of the league pass platform.

This season's version is an utter joke.

So far every single second half I've attempted to watch causes the stuttering/buffering every couple of seconds and makes it unbearable to watch.

If it's still like this in week two I'll be demanding my money back.

Absolutely garbage and no excuse for this considering how much money people pay to utilise it.

Yes, allowing KPJ to dribble, dribble, and dribble like a turdy Steve Francis helps everyone develop. o_O

Sounds like a good plan for Silas to get himself fired, and for JG to force himself to LA.

When Alperen gets the ball, the ball hops, and moves. How can you guys not get that? KPJ has sticky fingers and And-1 Streetball vision. He is not an offensive engine, but he could be great with Alperen's assistance.

Eason is the answer. Here the tweek that fixes all our problems. Start Martin and Fernando.

Gordon gets ALL the minutes in the backcourt this also staggers Porter & Green

Eason gets more time at both forward spots because Gordon is in the backcourt.

Sengun gets his time as the X factor because he will flip us from guard dominant to post play. Bruno had a GREAT game last night hard to pull someone playing like he was. Sengun playing time will go up.

Porter / Green / Smith all 30 minutes a night.

So Mathews' 14 minutes should go to Eason for sure. All of them. KMJ shouldn't play 23 minutes. At best 15. Give the other 8 to Sengun. That would tighten up the rotation and Eason would play about 30 minutes, as well as Sengun. Silas' weird "revolving door" rotations with Mathews and KMJ getting that many minutes totally destroyed any flow.

As well as Bruno played, he really shouldn't be playing more than 20 minutes either.

Oh look, another Sengun only fan who thinks the team should revolve around him when he hasn't earned it. Colour me surprised.

A few thoughts based on the Hawks game and preseason:
    • We should start EG, Green, Eason, Smith, Sengun. That’s our best lineup if we are trying to win games. It also allows us to develop our top talent and see how they can play together. KPJ instead of EG would work as well, if we are more interested in future development rather than winning now. The KPJ/Green chemistry is not there yet, but I have hope that they can make it work.
    • Bruno has a place in our rotation, but starting him is pointless both from a win-now and future success perspectives. He clogs the lanes for Green drives and makes for some awkward handoffs at the top off the key.
    • Eason is too good not to start.
    • The KPJ/Green/EG trio should be more of a situational solution rather than our starting backcourt. I’d have two of them together for most of the game with Christopher getting the remainder of the guard minutes.
    • Ultimately we may need to find a proper PG to play next to Green with KPJ coming off the bench.
    • There is an NBA player in KPJ, but he needs the right environment around him. More playmakers and shooters. Play him with the starting lineuP I’ve suggested above when Eason comes off.
    • We need to start and keep playing Sengun, even if that means we suffer through his learning curve. I like his effort and hustle, I think we are a better rebounding team when he plays. So frustrating when he locks a smaller defender in the post and the guards don’t see the mismatch. But boy, he needs to cut out on these sloppy turnovers asap. It’s time for him to start converting his talent and promise into impact and wins.

What exactly does that have to do with Sengun? Straw man arguments are a waste of everybody's time tbh.

Nah I'll carry on calling all you SoF fake ass fans who should stop polluting a Rockets fan page when you're not a Rockets fan. Thanks for admitting it though, most carry on the pretence.

Same. Bought on app for preseason, couldn’t watch one game. Bought again through my cable provider on my TV right before tipoff and worked flawlessly

All we want is for KPJ not to dribble so damn much, because he is historically awful at it. Instead of dribbling, use Sengun/Fernando as a hub and MOVE OFF THE BALL. It plays to our guard’s strengths.

That might be what you want, it's not what these SoF who are out here b****ing about wanting him traded because he's not the focus of everything (because he doesn't remotely deserve to be yet.)

Has KPJ deserved it? With his actions or play last year? No one helps KPJ avoid his weaknesses more than Sengun can.
