I'm waiting too! Last I heard he was working out with John Lucas in Houston and wanted to return, maybe to the Rockets. If the Rockets got EG back that would end all worries about the 4 spot, but JVG should start MoT and make Eddie earn his starting spot back(Rudy did it to MoT when he got hurt for a year). The Rockets should give EG another shot but for cheap, I personally think he owes it to the Rockets to do that.
Totally agree with you, however i think howard gonna start at the 4. Play Eddie at the 4 and 5 positions.
Agreed -- this is so stupid I can't believe it. Yeah - a headcase with a penchant for hoisting terrible threes and absoultely no work ethic. What a great idea! I bet JVG will be all over that...
Lest we forget, EG made a third of his threes during his stint in Rudy's offense. That is as good as making half of your two pointers and far better than a LONG list of players that are supposed to be very good shooters from downtown.
If the Rox picked up Eddie, we could then trade MoT or Howard for a backup C or PG. Ex: Houston Trades: MoT and Pike, 2nd round pick Houston Recieves: Barry and Booth Seattle trades: Barry and Booth Seattle Recieves: MoT and Pike, 2nd round pick We get a backup C for Yao and a starting PG. Seattle gets rid of Booth's contract, which they've been trying to unload. They get a much needed PF and a good shooter. They might lose Barry anyways, so might as well get something in return.
I'm not saying we shouldn't pick him up for the minimum, but to say signing him would "end all our worries at the 4 spot" is simply ridiculous.
True. However, I still feel that 1) He is a headcase and a distraction we do not need no matter how cheap. Heck, I'd rather use Badiene. 2) JVG would NEVER resign him. But, I may be wrong. --rhad
Eddie needs to stay the hell away from fast lane in the NBA and straighten out his life FIRST! Take another year or 2 or 3 and travel the world and straighten out your life starting by helping out with charities and working with the under privileges people. After that you can go back to your NBA root.
I don't know - Eddie's a kid, and sometimes a kid has to really **** up before getting his priorities straight. It's the whole "touching the stove to find out if it's really as hot as everyone says" thing. I'd say it's worthwhile to try him out, have him meet with JVG, and so on, but proceed with extreme caution.
Ditto. Eddie would have to crawl on his hands and kneeds and beg JVG for an opportunity to play for the vet minimum before he was a Rockets. And even then, I doubt JVG would seriously consider it.
