There's tons of players i didn't list, i just picked a few off the top of my head. Guys like Cade, Jalen, Bam, etc. Also there's a 0% he's even close to lebron or harden this year, come on dude
No, I personally wouldn't guarantee him but the Rockets hedged the risk with a partial guarantee and did. The guy slipped to the bottom of the 1st round because he is a knucklehead. The Cavs gave up on him because of his knuckleheadery during his stay there including this unstable tweet “You ever wish to see the end of your time?” Go read the stuff he did while in college and on the Cavs. The 1 incident with the Rockets isn't the entire cause for concern. Walking out on the team during a game was a big deal. Him apologizing for it was the right thing to do not extra credit to make up for his immature stupid choices. This isn't worth talking about. You, DD and others think he's a forever changed man with 11 months of good behavior. Others, including the Rockets and myself aren't completely convinced. I hope that Porter has grown out of his unstable behavior, we just have to wait and see.
Kevin Porter Jr signing NFL level contracts just now. This is like a GOAT contract, super unfriendly to the players. Had no idea current CBA allowed this level of structure.
He was INCREDIBLE with the nets the 1st year he was there but ya people don't like him so he didn't get voted in. CP3 goes beyond stats but ya there might be enough people who aren't capable of looking past the surface level numbers that someone like kpj could sneak in at some point i guess, but i'd say the odds he makes an all nba team in his career are close to 0%
1 year 15mil isn't bad at all. If he plays well and improves, keep paying him. If he throws a fit mid-season, dump his ass and draft a new PG.
Exactly, I love KPJ but as I said in an earlier post trust has to be regained. He even had an incident with Silas last year. So this is the best situation for him and im proud of this team because not every team would be this patient and understanding so he is def lucky to have Houston as we are to have him. I still wish he was a 3 but we dont have many options at the 1 so he will have to do and hopefully improve his pass vision a bit more over time.
Glad he got paid. He now has the chance to pull off one of the best underdog stories we've seen. If his decision-making on and off the court improve, he'll not only get the full 82, he'll get a FAT extension in the end and possibly some rings to show off. Today's a good day. Can't wait for Wed.
And you also thought he that he'd only get 12 mil. This assessment is in line with that. If kpj is putting up 20/6/5 like he was the last 20 games of last year (something you likely think impossible) and Green develops into a top SG in the league, they'll both make all NBA teams. That's just how it goes with top guard duos.
He got less guaranteed then even I would have been willing to offer so he basically got less then I expected. I truly can’t imagine him making all nba but crazy **** can happen (see smart winning dpoy for reasons)
Hey there! There's a lot, and I mean A LOT of stuff that has been said by front offices in whispers regarding KPJ since the Cleveland days. Front offices, players, agents, parents of players not wanting their kids to get drafted by the team that has KPJ on the payroll, but what there isn't is an ounce of interest from me to go back and dig all that stuff for an internet db stuck on his mom's basement, yelling crap at anyone loud enough to make it look like he has an argument by submission. While I may have mistook who the quote was from something I read days ago, there is nothing, absolutely nothing that warrants the pos response you just typed, and the fact that there has been a lot of ongoing negative talk surrounding him stands. He got a nice contract. It's a positive and is what it is. They obviously wanted to give him fair value, but also knew there were concerns. They know more than anyone. If he continues to improve, both on and off the court, he'll end up with multi-generational security and more. Great story.
Honestly, more players should have to sign these kind of contracts. The worst kind of player are the ones that get paid then regress.
