Chicago has been trying to unload Robinson and Williams supposedly any deal for Crawford must include one of those contracts. they would also like to deal Antonio Davis. A. Davis 12.5 mil through 2006) Robinson 6.5 mil (through 2006) Williams 5.5 mil (through 2008) (we don't want this long term albatross) We have 2 bad contracts: MoT 8.0 through 2007 Weatherspoon 5.7 through 2006 (and maybe Juwan 5.3 through 2008) Except for Juwan and MoT all the big contracts expire within the next 2 years (and Tmac will be extended of course) SIGNIFICANTLY - Yao will be give his extention in 2006 - so we will not have any cap flexibility after that (2 max players plus the others will leave us over the cap for years). So, if we are going to get cap flexibility to add one more player it has to be prior to or in 2006. PLUS - We need a backup center and a PG. Assuming we get Barry with the MLE - we could still use another PG based on matchups. SO, I suggest: Package deal: TE for Robinson MoT and Spoon for A.Davis Chicago gets rid of 2 of its bad contracts, but gets back 2 others. It is good fro them because they still sacve 7 mil and maybe the new players will help them more than the ones they have now. A.Davis would be the best backup C/PF we could get and Robinson would provide depth at the 3. We also get rid of MoT's sucky contract. Even if we do not get cap space in 2006, we can trade the expiring contracts in 2005 for other players. If we could also work out something to get Chicago to add Crawford or Chandler - it would be gravy.
I was kind of thinking about this last night, but I was thinking of how we could get Chandler and take back a bad contract like Robinson. I think the Bulls are down on Chandler and would love to get rid of a bad contract. Robinson would be a nice sg/sf guy off the bench. I think they would consider it if we were to give them MoT. He could help their front court scoring. MoT + Griffin + Pike for Chandler + Robinson Just my opinion though.
It is 2 contracts for 2 contracts (not 3) We accelerate the last year by getting rid of MoT's contract that runs through 2007 and taking Adavis' contract that is larger but expires in 2006. IMO we are better off with ADavis than MoT and Chicago could use the cap space and MoT more than ADavis.
Yeah, that might cost them a few games. Too bad it won't matter, because they won't have a winning record WITH a backup center.
I'm a huge bulls fan now that they arent winning and I moved near chicago...davis is also a starter or was last year, I dont see him losing his job to a overweight, underacheiving curry.
Bulls just got Dikembe, Othella and Shandon Anderson. So they now have too many bigs and are definitely looking to dump salaries (as evident by this trade). Crawford, Eddie Robinson for Mutombo, thella, and shandon
I like the idea of Junk Yard Dog and A Davis. But if they really want to come here, they going to have to lower their price tag.
We gotta pull a rabbit out of the hat and demand Hinrich in any deal with Chicago. They wanna lose ERob and JYD or AD, they gotta send Hinrich with them.
