    HOUSTON has 3 FAs.
    Mark Jackson (Unrestricted)
    Mike Wilks (R)
    Scott Padgett (U)

It looks like we will get another starting PG (Barry or whoever). With Lue and Gaines under contract, my guess is Mark and Mike are as good as gone.

For PF, we have Howard, MoT, Spoon under contract, Padgett's days are also numbered.

It will be sad to see these guys go. I actually feel for these guys more than I care for Steve, Cat and Cato.

van gundy recently (within the last two weeks) has commented that he really liked the outside shooting that padgett brings to the table. i do think he has a place here in houston, a matt bullard type role.

JVG can like all the touch he wants, currently he has a collection of undersized PF's all of which should spend time at SF. We need some length and that is where BAD and EG should come in.

I am a huge Padgett fan.

He hustles on defense, rebounds, dives for lose balls, and most importantly... he can shoot! Something good always happens when he is in the game.

Padgett's only problem is lack of playing time.

I think Padgett is a good role player to keep around. Yes, he does not get many minutes, but when he does he has shown he can be productive. He should also come very cheap.

I too believe that Padgett is one of those players that always seems to do everything right. He does the little things that help a team win, and he doesn't need a spotlight to do it. Every team needs a guy like him. The Rockets must keep him!

I hope we can keep Padgett. Mark Jackson should retire and joing the coaching staff, I think he would be very helpful in that capacity b/c he just doesn't have the legs anymore.

Except shoot that 2 when they were down by 3 to lose the game when they were playing the Kings in the playoffs a couple years back.

I hope Mark Jackson isn't resigned, he should have stayed retired along with Charles Oakley. Watching many of the Rocket games down the stretch of last season, he was a liability on the offensive end. I know he was probably the 5th option on offense, but in the NBA you should be able to knock down wide open 3s and hit free throws.

they should really sign padgett back! i really like this guy! he makes our offense spread out all over the floor. with his range, if ever yao/tmac get double teamed, he may just be lurking around the 3 point line so wide open waiting for someone to get him the ball then *swish*... lol. but, yeah, rockets should really sign padgett back! he hustle's and has a good shooting touch to spread out the floor. other than that, if i had my way, ill let go of wilks and mark jackson. we already got our back-up pgs, tyronn lue and reece gaines. id rather see them on the floor than washed out mark jackson....

mark jackson def needs to stop playing. i like him and all, but he is getting way too old for this game. i agree, he should join the coaching staff and be a "pg coach" haha. we gotta keep padgett! he plays hard and works out there he is my second favorite player next to boki... well as in players on the bench that need to see more playing time.

I like Padgett too and I wish we could keep him instead of MoT but I don't think it will work out. Noone will take MoT off our hand and we do not have roster spots for 4 PFs.

I agree with you about padgett being a good sub for us...we always need shooters, but there is no room for him on the team, after we added Howard and since we need to sign a backup center and a point guard. We still have adrian griffin on the roster as well (assuming he ends up on IR). So, unless we can trade MoT/Spoon for nothing in return...which I wouldn't mind:)...show me where padgett fits on the roster...
    Guaranteed: 1yao, 2tmac, 3howard, 4jj, 5nachbar, 6moT, 7spoon, 8FA PG, 9FA Backup C, 10Pike, 11Lue, 12Gaines
IR: A. Griffin, Wilks (didnt we tender him an offer as Restricted?)

Padgett is the only player of these three that I would even consider keeping on the ROX's roster for this season. Jackson is done and Wilks sucks terribly. If the Rox can sign Padgett cheaply, I say bring him back, but not at 5 years and $30 million. That's a freaking joke!!! But stranger things have happened before!!!!!!

Can we instead offer Mark Jackson a coaching role. ie. help the young point guards?
