I don't want more than 4/24 for Barry. Ok, maybe add one Charles Barkley's Houston Downtown Clubs Itinerary.
Well, Denver is offering Manu Ginobili 6 years, starting at 9M in the first season. San Antonio definitely won't match that. Now they will REALLY go after Barry.
What? With a dynasty possibility dangling in front of him and he still considers staying in Seattle as his first choice? This guy (BB) doesn't care about winning championships.
It's from realGM's webpage. However, people on the Nuggets and Spurs forums are claiming this is false news. I think Manu's agent came out and disclaimed it early today.
The website is saying their sources confirmed it. Random users on forums are saying it's false. You decide for yourself. I don't think RealGm would put their credibility on the line, the report says RealGm EXCLUSIVE, meaning if it's false they have lots to lose.
Which report is true and what actually happened with Ginobili and the Nuggets? I don't know and I don't care!
I think he'll wind up with Sonics or Spurs. The Spurs will probably offer him 3yrs and 7mill per and the sonics will probably have close to the same. Once Alston got the money he did, it kind of ruined our chances. Personally , i would go after Jason Terry with Taylor or TE. If that doesn't work, I would try to sign Damon Jones to a 4 yr 14mil contract and see what happens after that. If that didn't work, I would just go into camp with the 2 i have.
I'm with you. Don't try to slam together a team in one off-season. If it isn't there, don't force it. We still have time and there is no telling who will be available at the trade deadline or next off-season. Patience wins championships.

Totally agree with you guys. We need to be patient in this seller's market..wait for the right deal to come along. I think Rox management is doing just that, judging from how quiet it is these few days...
Disagree with pretty much everything you said. He won't go to any of those teams for 3 years. he has repeatedly said he want to have 4 years, even if it's the same money. If no one else offers a 4th year, Houston probably has the best chance at him. Atlanta would be morons to give terry up for MoT. Tehy would be even more stupid to take the TE. They are already WAY under the cap, what good would a TE be? They will either MAKE Terry a building block, or trade him for a building block. Signing Damon Jones to anything more than 2 years wouldn't be smart as well. So far, Damon Jones has only one succesful season, and that's on a running team. He would accept two years. He would take a pay cut to play for his hometeam. 4/14? Way too much. That's over 3M per year. Didn't we learn from the Moochie debacle that backup PG's are rarely, if ever, worth long term contracts? There is never ever a shortage of backup PG's in the NBA. As for going into camp with Gaines and Lue, I wouldn't say it would be horriffic, since Lue can handle the PG position for a good 30 minutes, but I would prefer not to do it. Not to pin our hopes on Gaines playing 18 minutes. I think we should make some simple deals. Acquire Antonio Daniels and a C from Seattle. Here's how I would go about it: - If they take back a PF from us, I'd take Daniels and Booth. - If we're talking only TE, then I would demand that they give us either James or Potapenko, who are both in their final year of their respective contracts. Solves ourdepth problems. I'd be fine with Daniels/Lue/Gaines at PG. Collectively, they make around 6M. We have 20M tied into our PF spot, which is probably one of the weakest in the league. Maybe Atlanta will take MoT for Alan Henderson? Howard for Chris Crawford and Przybilla? Talent in exchange for money basically. We give them more talent, they take longer contracts.
I think their intention would be to play him as a 2 and swing over to the 1 for the 10-15 mins that Parker is on the bench.
What exactly is "new" about this news? The Spurs are interested in Barry if Ginobili leaves? We knew that last week. The Rockets are "thought to be going hard" after Barry? We knew that last week. Barry prefers Seattle, but may not re-sign if the Sonics don't offer him a fourth year? We knew that last week, too. This is all old news, cobbled together and repackaged by ESPN as though it were somthing worth reading. Here are some more "news" items ESPN could post: Shaq is still demanding a trade from the Lakers. Kobe is still exploring his free agent options. Kobe is still being charged with sexual misconduct in Colorado. John Edwards is still John Kerry's VP choice. EPSN Insider is still a waste of money.
