That's a couple of years old, I wonder what happened to the cops. Even the other cop said arrest him for what.
Where are the “good apples?” The other cop just willingly goes along with the abuse of power. no questions asked no “Hey, wait a minute. This is wrong.” nothing…and it happens constantly without video, they would’ve said some bullsh*t like the dad was fighting them
The cop that made the original stop was indicted for official oppression, a class A misdemeanor. Not sure if he was convicted or if the trial has yet to occur. The cop resigned after being demoted. The second cop was found not at fault by the police department since he was just following the first cop's orders. The city settled with the father and son for $200,000. https://www.cbsnews.com/dfw/news/fo...-indicted-arrest-father-filming-traffic-stop/
Side note- I used to do IT support for this PD. It was a notorious speed trap city. I remember a conversation with the Captain about needing new network equipment. His response was that they needed to see how much drug money they seized over the next year. That's not corrupt, it's the norm, but PDs being able to keep any money obtained by the cops gives them motivation to pull over, detain and/or arrest an undue amount of people. It's essentially fishing.
The other cop was just 'following orders'? Does he not know the law? This is the problem. Cops push back when pushed. This dog psychology shouldn't be their mentality. De-escalation of situations should be the first priority. If they want to get into fights, they should join and stay in the military.
