Andrew Wiggins is next. Curious what will happen with Draymond.

There's no way Poole should be getting that much money over 4 years right now. If he's getting that amount then KPJ's eyes just got larger!

It's okay. The Warriors would easily be that team to shed payroll to the bare minimum for 5 years straight once their run ends.

So nice when you have an owner that pays to win

So, does this mean Green is gone after this year?

The Warriors owner made it clear he wouldn't pay this high of a cap figure (adding another near max guy in Poole, retaining Wiggins, and keeping Steph/Klay/Dray).

“Last year (getting under the luxury tax) was a fluke,” Fertitta said. “We were going to be in the (tax). It was an accident. I’m still trying to figure out how we got under. I was positive we were going to be in it by $11 million. But if I’m in the luxury tax, I expect us to win."

4/109 is a great deal for the Warriors.

Wiggins isn't an all-star level player but he is a very good starter, only 27 and fills one of the most valuable position (shooting/defending wings) in the modern NBA.

WIth the cap rising next season, it's likely he could've gotten 30M-37M annually instead of the 27M in this extension.

For reference, Wiggins signed for about the same amt as Brunson, RJ Barrett and Anfernee Simons.

Open one eye and close the other: Curry, Klay, Draymond, Iguodala, Wiggins

Now close that eye and open the other: Wiggins, Kuminga, Wiseman, Poole.

They're contenders now. They're going to be contenders in 3 years' time. They're going to be contenders in the twilight of Curry's career and when Curry retires, Kuminga/Wiseman/Poole will all be in their primes at around ages 28-32.

    Crazy.

They've meshed an existing contender with a rebuilding team with a bunch of young talent.

    Beyond impressive.

The paid all their guys, which is what the Warriors are doing. Salaries and luxury tax rules weren't the same over the last 20 years.

Ginobili and Parker took team friendly discounts to stay. I remember ginobili turning down huge money from the nuggets to sign for less with the spurs

name one team that afford to do what the warriors are currently doing besides the clippers owner. 500 million in tax is unheard of. That’d be the like the astros paying cole, springer and correa whatever they wanted because we got to the World Series with them
