Do hope we can bring in a deadeye shooter like Robinson in this possible trade, only at the cost of sending out assets like Gordl, Tate/favors, n let KJ stay! he should be an asset - 'no for sale'! @ApacheWarrior
Philly had expirings that they traded already -- those players could have been swung for EG, but my guess is they rightfully concluded we weren't going to trade EG to them. This team, as you probably know, has been offered an FRP for Gordon before (without taking back any bad money) and they've declined, especially during the last trade deadline.
Is there a way to bring Conley over for Christopher? His will be a expiring next season at 22mil I think KPJ, Green, Tyty need a respectable vet for 1yr to learn from before we take off running next season KPJ/Conley/Tyty Green/Gordon Tari/Tate/lotto pick Jabari/KMJ/lotto Sengun/Bruno We can find another Christopher with Nets lotto picks but our backcourt could really use a mentor this & next year before the can handle on their own
I knew Tate was practicing 3's all summer....I see it. Heard nothing on KMj doing the same....but I can say he was. More arc on his shot. Better. I don't want to lose KMj.....but Tate signing extension protects him from being traded this season ( I believe). They way Miami was featuring Duncan Robinson with screens near the 3-pt line in the first half was creative and imaginative. Similar to elevator plays. That would give the Rockets such an added weapon. So many Princeton offense could be run off of that along the baseline to free throw line underneath. Greater use that Klay with Warriors or just spot shooting by Eric Gordon.
Considering the Rockets are already paying Wall a lot not to have a PG mentor, I doubt Tilman would be excited about paying $22M more because the Rockets changed their mind.
Jevon Carter looks like he can finally shoot. He’d be a fine backup PG. I wonder if we could somehow pry him away from the Bucks.
Suns aren't going to trade Mikal Bridges for a bunch of bench players and a late first rounder, come on.
Get another unprotected pick from a good team. Take another chance for this draft. Nets Bucks and one more to somehow have a bad season. Use that currency to move up higher in the top 10.
to get a pick from what is supposed to be a top 10 team. im pretty sure gordon and martin take back a contract would easily get that done. 3 picks next year. and the nets assets should be able to get you the second pick. scoot and green back court along with sengun passing out to tari eason and jabari sounds like something that would be just plain dominant for many years.
I think people really overvalue their own teams players. Remember all the wood nonsense? With people saying 2 firsts? Gordon is probably negative salary and martin is just a guy. You’d likely have to take on an extra year of dead money for a first (and you won’t be getting scoot unless you get top 2 pick in the lottery, trade won’t happen)
There are teams who blew up their rosters for the 28% chance at either Scoot or Wemby. Let's say they get that top 2 pick. You think they would give that up for picks 5 25 and 26?!? Plus the right to swap picks with the Nets a few times? Maybe you are right. But I highly doubt any GM views it that way
probably not. one can hope though. the two players i wanted most in the last 2 drafts were green and jabari. this draft is a little different though the 2 best players both look like for sure thing super stars. with one being a center that does things no has done before at his size and the other being a guard that would with out a doubt make the most dynamic back court in the history of basketball. 48 minutes of both of either and/or both of those guys all game would be nuts. Otherwise I would take Nick Smith a good shooter to go with the shooting already on the team. Regardless though I think the Rockets should do what they have to trade wise get one last piece before next year.
The Nets season this year will likely have a huge impact on the value of those picks. Yeah it would be a huge ordeal to move up for him I think IF the Rockets wanted to they could. They may think it would be best to just roll the dice on the Nets picks as they implode and/or get older though. I dunno... I just know what I personally want to happen haha
We desperately need a real PG We have our #2 & #3 overall picks shooting 36 & 33 % from the field. I don't know if it can be addressed by trade or what but if not I'm about damn near ready to be lobbying for us to sign Rondo or something. We can't be an uber-low assist high turnover team with our most important players' development being fumbled like this. This is a personnel problem, we don't have any natural playmakers. We don't have any vet PG to teach KPJ / Green / Nix etc how to run an offense. Do something Stone.
Just a what if Scenario in the Off season: I'm not a Salary cap specialist and not sure if this trade can work money wise or if the CBA can allow it. With the Rockets having cap space this offseason... Durant for Jalen Green and all of Brooklyn's picks and swaps Beal for 2023 1st HOU Rounder, KPJ, KMJ, Garuba, 2023 Milwaukee 1st and another HOU first Rounder Obviously its way too good for Houston...but if we can hold onto some of our younger pieces and get some superstars...that would make our future more interesting than this current rebuild. Durant and Beal with Jabari, Sengun, Eason, Tate, Mathews and resign Gordon.
So the player the rockets got for losing an entire season and James Harden for Durant (a player the Nets signed for free in free agency). noooooooooooooo
