This just doesn't add up? Who is Arroyo's agent anyway? Rockets could have easily offered him more over 4 years...this guys is very under-valued...
One thing that everyone is losing sight of...we can offer Barry a SnT contract starting at MLE $ by using a SnT with the TE. (SEA gets a TE in the SnT). If you sign Barry with the TE, that leaves the entire MLE for other roster spots. My guess is that we didn't want to wait 15 days for the Jazz to match on Arroyo when you can get a SnT deal done quickly for Barry and then focus on the MLE. Just MHO but I think to Rox knew that bidding on Arroyo was a waste of time and would require all of the MLE.

I think Lopez has one more year left on his contract, and after that, there is a team option for another year. So, in reality, he has 2 years left.
Are the Jazz ever going to just die? If they get a good PF, they'll be much improved from last season, and Sloan doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Can the Rockets make an offer too, or is it over? I really wanted Arroyo, maybe 4 years at 4.5mil a year? (4 years, 18mil). I think he would be worth it. I want Barry too, but I hate the idea of over paying him.
