What 610 reported today was that the Rockets offered a 4 yr/$24 mill contract to Barry.

I have Inside Drive for XBOX (which I love by the way) and I fixed the roster to reflect the trade for TMac and I picked up Berry. It's a nice lineup even though I have Berry starting at the 2, TMac the 3. TMac & Yao are both avg. 30+ pts/game after 8 games in the season. Can't tell you how many fastbreaks and 3 ptrs. I get with Berry. Even though Gaines is rated like crap, he does great for me. He drives right by the othe pg more often than not. I just recently started him ahead of Lue.

in my opinion brent barry yeh hes good but i think hes gettin old and plus he has problems with stayign healthy. thats too big of a contract for him to.i say we get fisher who is almost as old as barry btu is more healthy and has better experience (yeh i knwo barry has been playign longer but fisher has had experience in the finals so many times also playign with shaq and kobe) plus we can sign fisher to a cheaper contract. and with the rest of the money we really really need to get a back up center maybe sumone liek brian skinner or mark blount especially but i think after a very good yr last year he will be too expensive, btu either way we really need a back up center. oh yeh and all those ppl who want arroyo thas not a good idea cuz he aint even good at 3's

The Rockets need a point guard who can at least keep the defense honest. Barry would be ideal but if not him then someone like Aroyo would be fine. Who are the other unrestricted and restricted free agent point guards?

The Rockets are beyond draft picks, now they're worried about building an upper tier Western Conference basketball team. This team is already young enough.

Sam Cassell added nothing to our championship team.

20 year old Tony Parker added nothing to the Spurs chamiponship team.

2nd year player Tayshaun Prince added nothing to Detroit's championship team.

    Youth sucks. They add nothing.

to be truthful, those just some examples.

And you have to remember the coaches that they had and the players that they played with.

Cassell had Drexler, Horry, Hakeem, Thorpe, Elie and Rudy T
Parker had Robinson, Duncan, Popavich and some very experienced players on that roster

Tayshaun price has Larry Brown, Ben and Rasheed Wallace, Billups and some pretty decent team mates as well.

You can see how much of an impact a team has and how much of an impact a GOOD coach has.

Wow, Seattle is going to hit the lottery on this one. They were already going to lose Barry; now it seems they'll get a 1st round pick for him.

It just doesn't seem fair that other teams get these sort of breaks. When the Rockets lost Posey we got nothing from Memphis.

But, if the Rockets truly think that Barry will get them into the elite teams in the West, then I think getting Barry into Houston is the next priority for this team. Barry shooting 45% from the 3 point line is insane; that's what Shaq shoots from the free thow line some years without being guarded.

Why get Seattle involved at all? Barry is an unrestricted FA.

    I'm confused

As for losing yet another first round draft pick, I think the idea sucks.

Why not make the same offer to Chicago instead.

At least Crawford will have some trade value in two years.

I hate when people call him Berry...it's BArry people...with an A...

anyway...Arroyo resigned with the Jazz...so that's one less PG to choose from...

Hedo Turkoglu's signing with the Magic means two things:

    (1) It's more likely that SA will get Barry
    (2) 6 years/$39M = Weisbrod really is a moron

FA prices have been so high this offseason, I think that we have to lower our expectations for a PG, even with the appeal of T-Mac and Yao.

I think the idea was that that would be the only way to make an offer higher than the MLE, considering our lack of cap space.
