He should play like one of the best 5 players then.

It's similar to why most people in the north Continent of America think nations (humans) are identified as being a coloring crayon / adjective

Sengun needs to learn he has a short leash as a starter... Maybe then he'll stop the stupid fouling...

That’s a good insight and I agree that Bari makes Sengun more viable but I still think Sengun isn’t a contender quality big.

Assuming we don’t get lucky and land Wemby, once we’re ready to really start competing in a year or two I would like us to look at some of the “young vet” bigs our there that fit our emerging culture of defense first athleticism: Miles Turner, Jarret Allen, Adebayo, Ayton, etc.

It’s too early to say on either guy honestly. I don’t think Sengun is a long term starter though. As for KPJ, it depends on his contract and whether we get some secondary playmaking from other spots in the starting lineup.

Thanks, let me give it a try:

Lots to feel good about after this game. Yes, we lost, but this is more about looking for growth - and I saw plenty of that. Still, there are things we can do better.

KPJ played within himself and had control of the game. I could see that he has grown into a more mature player and hopefully person. Love what he did tonight.

Jalen gets buckets. It's who he is. We all saw it tonight. I don't know if the man even broke a sweat. I always wanted him with the #2 pick and I haven't ever wavered.

Eason is a mix of Herbert Jones and Shawn Marion. He fills up the box score despite never having a play called for him. Did you guys see the ball pressure he was applying tonight??? Insane. The rest of the league was watching - I guarantee it.

Martin is still very young and I think some of you forget that. Tonight, he showed more of that promise. We all know his athleticism is ridiculous, but he plays with a sophistication and calm that comes from being the son of a guy in the league. This can't be taught. I hope those of you who are quick to judge will be more thoughtful going forward.

Sengun was off tonight. Yes, this is early in his tenure as our starting center, but we can see real causes for concern. Our guards didn't involve him enough, and if he's not orchestrating on offense then his weaknesses grow more glaring.

Christopher is a gamer, I'll say that. He plays hard but doesn't always play smart. I hope Silas sits down with him to go through the game film and identifies his opportunities for improvement. He particularly looked bad in the 3rd. Christopher might be the anchor that holds our team down.

Mathews is a G Leaguer who had a hot streak on the worst team in the league going against teams who were half-assing it. Giving him a 4 year deal was stupid when it happened and just looks worse every passing day.

Thankfully that contract has $0 additional guaranteed years on it. We can cut bait on him at any time with little long term reprecussions

Dude signed for 2M a year for 4 yrs you really gonna get angry at his deal? Plus his contract isnt even guaranteed he can be cut any time with no repercussions lol. I get it he had a bad game but for his contract he is really nothing more than a practice partner and end of bench filler.

I harped on Sengun's limitations big time last season, but I'm not going to write him off after just one bad pre-season game. It's probably his worst game he's had since he's been drafted here.

He'll bounce back and do better and make those incredible plays that we are used to seeing. He did fine against Poetl who isn't exactly a slouch. He missed last game due to a dental procedure and he just stunk it up out there today...It happens.

I don't agree that he can't be a starting Center on a Contender either. I think he can be...But I don't think Sengun is going to be the guy finishing games anyways, unless he just flat out becomes a star.

But rockets are probably going to go small a lot with Jabari at Center, Tari at the 4 and play 5 out.

Now....Garry......that guy looks cooked. I was leaning towards keeping him on the roster but I'm really not seeing a need for him to be here at this point.

Green is starting to develop legitimate gravity. The Heat were sending multiple defenders at him.

on some of these turnovers the team needs to pick and pop or quick pick and roll a bit more ambitiously

RocketsWatch is a “space” to chat. Or do they not stick around for post-game analysis? Clutch is starting chats in between games, for sure.

Matthews' minutes early in the season need to go to Martin, Christopher and any other promising young player who can make a difference in the rotation. He should be the 11th or 12th guy off the bench.

Now if the Rockets are legitimately terrible again this year and need to tank over the last 20 or so games? Unleash Garry Bird, the new tank commander.
