its really hard b/c you have multiple actors across multiple decades. but if i have to pick one id go with goldfinger. i think its the most "james bondish" of all james bond movies. thats the one i would recommend to someone who has never seen a bond movie. its kind of got everything a bond movie should. arguably the most iconic villian in bond history in goldfinger himself possibly the most iconic henchman in oddjob ridiculously named love interest - p***y galore naked chick painted in gold the bad-ass aston martin with all the gadgets and seat ejector that bad ass floor that opens up into a map grandiose plot to overthrow the world bad guy is about to kill bond and reveals his entire plan to him, then walks away leaving bond to escape simpsons have referenced it.
I can't really say which is the best but the best Bond would come down to Roger Moore vs Daniel Craig, IMO. Roger Moore's Bond was the most fun by far, but Craig was perfectly cast as a more thuggish version of Bond, plus his action scenes are on another level. Spoiler God do I hate how his story ended though. I think all the Bond movies are free on Prime right now, FWIW.
Goldfinger and Goldeneye were the best before Daniel Craig. Almost all of Daniel Craig's bond movie have been on another level IMO. Bond was always towing the line between camp, action and Bond's need to f**k every girl that crossed his path. Since Casino Royale they've really put an effort into being top of the line action movie. Presentation, writing, dialogue, everything. I actually wouldn't mind if the next Bond movies went a little old school with some camp, but I think the recent movies are about as good as Bond can get.
I saw a billboard for this when I was a kid and asked my mother if I could see it. Her jaw dropped open and I immediately pointed at the billboard. I knew what reaction I would get but it was a nice loophole to curse and say one of the big ones out loud when I was 10.
Casino Royale. Instantly proved Craig's casting wasn't a wrong one, in the first few scenes. Mads Mikkelsen as the best villain in the Craig era. Eva Green as a "Bond babe" with actual character development. Plus, she HAS to be on the Mt. Rushmore of beautiful Bond women.
