…but neither does Nix and at least Josh can score. Can’t say the same about Nix continuing to bowling ball his way into 3 defenders and missing difficult layups he should have never taken while he has open shooters…and at least offensive players know Christopher will put up a fight defensively. Nix’s man just goes straight to the hoop because they know he cant stop them.
What we need is a trade whereby we send out more players than we get back. Nix, Gary, & Theo need to be among the guys going out. I like Garuba, some, but mostly, where does he fit?

Personally I would cut him. Lots of prospects I prefer. I know it feels relatable to some people either now or from your childhood, but this is BS. He’s out of shape to start the season. Tyty is going to crush him.
After a bit more thought, lets say we do get rid of Nix. If traded, whoever we get in return isn't likely to play either. I mean, this roster is crowded. Who do you displace in the current rotation to make room for another player? Ditto for Gary. Ditto for Theo.
How bout we stagger Jalen and KPJ and just have Point Jalen when it's just him on the floor. They did that for Devin Booker in his third season and it really helped him develop his all around game.
I know Nix had good stats in the G-League, but I seriously have never seen anything from him that would justify any positive hype, or even hope. Even with Garuba, I have seen his great passing and defense in international play, and in flashes when he came off the bench. With Nix, I haven't seen any one thing he would be great at. And he doesn't seem that likeable either, based on the limited sample size of seeing him on the court etc. So it's probably not like he is a "glue guy" or whatever. When we clear out the roster, send Favors, Nix, Cauley-Stein (if even signed), Hudgins, Harkless on their way. No need for any of them.
Definitely don't NEED to No vets, its a waste of everyone's time I think Nix is likely a 3rd string PG at the NBA level, but thats also totally fine with me. You still need a 3rd string PG. Give him and Ty Ty all the backup PG minutes they can get while this team is still young, thats the point of all this.
