So many dead. You'll be missed.

    RIP:

Mike's dad, your pies made my wife's day.

Heather's mom, you were a sweet lady.

Kurt & Gloria's son in law, you were a nice guy when we met at the Skeeter's game.

Alvin Jr High principal. I didn't know you but you were younger than me.

    Very sorry for your losses.

I've known several who have had it and a few who have been hospitalized but thankfully I don't know anyone directly who's died. One of my best friend's aunt died back in April but I didn't know her.

I am very sorry for your losses. I am also sorry that there are so many idiots and heartless aholes in this world that try to minimize the losses to justify whatever point they are trying to make.

    Sorry to hear that, Xero.

I feel grateful to live in an area where most people take this threat very seriously and cases have been relatively flat.

I feel so bad for those that known people to succumb . On my side, no one in family or. Extended thank god but I know it could easily hit people even taking precautions. Friends ..different story , know of two but they recovered at least . This damn virus needs to be beaten with a stick and never to return

    RIP Uncle Bobby.

Not a Covid death, but Covid made the days leading up to and after his death much more difficult. RIP my Dad.

I don't know anyone that's died from Covid-19, but I've lost relatives during this and I lost one of the best friends I've ever had just the other day to cancer.

Death sucks. My condolences to all.

My father in law died on July 4th from covid. The worst thing about covid is not being able to be there in the time of need. My mother in law went to the hospital in late May for a 2nd amputation, diabetes related. Last person from our family seen her was on June 17th. She passed away from those complication on Aug. 12th with no one being able to comfort her or tell her, her husband had passed. My condolences to all who have been impacted.

My god K mf G...every problem in my life now seems meaningless. Thoughts to your family...that is just terrible to go through.

My aunt just passed away from Covid. RIP

It's still out there, third leading cause of death in the US.

RIP to your aunt and my condolences to you.

People take it in stride now, I think. Which is good and bad, but like I said in an earlier post, trying to get doctor appointments has gotten tougher for some - especially with specialists like pulmonologists. In a lot of cases, there's a months-long wait time to see one.

Sorry to hear. May I ask, how old was she/did she have pre-existing conditions, and did she get access to Paxlovid?

Really sorry to hear that. You’re right much of us take it for granted that it’s behind us or if we get it it won’t be serious but there are many still at high risk.

Sorry, not trying to be inconsiderate. I'm trying to understand if it could have helped. My hypothesis is that access to this isn't easy enough.

That post maybe looked weird to some, but in real life those are kinda the first questions you ask too, don't think it's that insensitive.

But your first 2 points (age, pre existing conditions) did come across as inconsiderate. Those are the exact things that COVID "minimalists" used to minimize the deaths.

Why do those things matter to you? His aunt passed away due to COVID and hundreds continue to die every day in the USA.
