I don't think we see KJ traded early. My guess is Tari's minutes suffer so that KJ and Tate can get minutes, and that this team looks to swing a KJ + EG + Favors deal at the deadline.
Rockets get robbed in that trade. They would need at least 2 FRPs from the suns to make it worth those players. Garuba was a FRP. Rockets would probably seek a late first for each of KJ and EG. Shamet is decent but isn’t as good as EG and he would get buried on the bench behind Nix, JC and TyTy. I don’t think the rockets need to add another shooting guard to their rotation I also doubt the suns would be willing to increase their payroll given the ownership situation. I’m mainly targeting Harris bc of his versatility and contract. He can start at the 3 and slide to the 4 when the bench comes in. Harris could be a great mentor for Tari. His contract has 2 years left and would move the FA timeline back by a year. I would rather pay Harris for 2 years than max out Middleton for 4 years. Also, with Harris’ large expiring contract, the Rockets would have some trade flexibility. Finally, Boban and Harris are close from their days with the Clippers. Locker room vibes would be immaculate. How about something like… PHX IN: Favors & a 2023 2nd from Philly PHI IN: Gordon, Harkless & Crowder HOU IN: Harris
Rockets aren't taking on Harris's contract for any less than 1 FRP. I expect Rockets will get at least 1 FRP from 2023 cap space if they can't use it in a trade for someone they want. Rockets aren't going to give away Gordon and Favors either. Until next offseason, those are the guys the Rockets need for matching contracts just in case a star breaks free. If at deadline that doesn't materialize, I expect they get at least a SRP for each.
I really do think the FO won't make a deal with Philly bc of Morey. I know it was a rumor, but my guess is they've offered a FRP by now for EG and we've said no.
I'm pretty sure they offered the Rockets one last season with protections and a contract that sucked. I think Rockets FO is capable of dealing with Morey, but Morey doesn't have a good fit back.
Man Give me Jordan Poole and will give them EG KPJ and KMJ maybe even throw in Josh C Ain't no way Poole can stay with a team were the so called "Leader" throws a knock out superman punch at him for simply pushing him off him. We get Poole, no need to rebuild. After a year or two Rockets might be competing for a chip!
Have you considered maybe Poole isn't liked by his teammates? I'm not saying this as a matter of fact, but as a possibility. Also... Poole isn't the missing piece to our future championship run lol
This one saddens me. Best for him and both teams. Sengun & Martin For Walker Kessler & 1 of the 3 2025 FRPs (first one not in the lottery) Kessler played well with Smith in college & he is bigger and true 5. Sengun is replaced with a better team fit. Bruno, Garuba & Favors play till WK makes Coach play him. Moving Martin opens room for Eason. We are giving two for one. The Jazz get more talent for their rebounding and pick up a pick.
Gordon, Tate, Favors to LAL. Russ to Houston, where je gets paid to sit at home. LAL unproctected 2027 comes along. LAL 2027 unprotected+Bucks pick+Garuba for Onyeka Okongwu.
Not sure if CHA wants to tank or try to get help for Melo and improve the team but regardless they have Kai Jones, JT Thor, and just drafted Mark Williams as well. Realistically can't develop them all and Kai Jones fits our above the rim run and gun style. He also seems to be 3rd or 4th in the pecking order of bigs. tldr; trade for Kai Jones
What are you talking about? Of course they like him!! I mean, come on... it's not like a long term team leader assaulted him at practice...... oh....
kpj martin gordon tate for westbrook. buy him out 2 picks nix/tyty green/christopher eason/g bird jabari/garuba sengun/bruno make sure then to have enough to trade up for scoot if you don't hit in the top 2 scoot/green/eason/jabari/sengun cap space galore playoffs championships
No chance LA trades unprotected for that, and no chance i’d throw away their pick if we somehow got it
I doubt that very seriously. If there was an offer of a #1 pick where the money worked, EG would be long gone. Philly is over the cap. They have to match salary - They have to send out at least $15,654,688 to take EG's $19,568,360 contract. Here's Philly's roster and salary information: Philadelphia 76ers 2022-23 Salary Cap Table | Spotrac You tell me how they come up with $15,654,688 in outgoing salary. Remember players they signed this offseason cannot be combined with other players to reach the requirement (for 90 days). Also remember that the Rockets have 19 players on their current roster. That means they can only take back two players unless they waive someone to make more roster spots. Once the regular season begins this figure will drop to 15 ..... and as difficult as it is not to make the numbers work - it gets infinitely harder because to make 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 trades they'd have to waive players that they obviously want to keep. I'd lay odds that he's waived after the deadline unless there is a season ending injury to a player in the $15,654,688 - $24,460,450 range that makes the $$$ work with a single contract. Tucker can't be included and they wouldn't use him anyway. Melton, Thybulle & Niang make the money work ($16,094,527) but is EG really worth giving up that depth ? I think not.
