Does anyone really think griffin can as effective as a rebouder shot blocker playing 20ft from the basket?if you are really out of the webber sweepstakes because of who you drafted, why draft a 3?i really think the rockets will let mo taylor walk, put griffin at the 4,and let morris, and langhi battle for the 3 spot.griffin could be much more effective from inside 15ft than outside 20.He's 220lbs,another 20lbs and he'll be strong enough to man that spot for years.shandon, can get gone and after next year walt can too.the rockets needs people who can create on their own and get down the floor.with francis,mobley,morris/langhi,griffin,and hakeem?or cato, they'll have all they need.the best fast break is your 4 man filling the lane on a trailer.taylor shouldn't be offered more than 6 a year,if someone offers him more than that, bye, bye

Yes Griffin can be an effective shotblocker away from the basket, he won't be 20 feet away. Scottie Pippen was an effective shotblocker without camping in the block as was Robert Horry. Camby even won a shotblocking title as a weakside shot blocker, so being a perimeter player won't hamper his defensive abilities. Mo Taylor will be back if he wants to return, hopefully he does.

I dont want griffen to primarily play the 4. Even if Mo left Id rather have KT start at the 4, Griff at the 3, and have Griff switch over to the 4 when KT needs to rest.

But hopefully we don't need to do that at all if Mo comes here. We'll be a much better team with a Mo, Griff combo, imo.

Funny how Griffin's game is more low post oriented and everyone here wants to make him a SF.

I think he is going to be a 4 in the NBA, wait until he fills out.

I agree with you once Griffin adds some size to his body he'll fit in nicely at the 4. I think starting him out at the 3 spot is just to get him started in the league

I haven't seen too many people who want him to be a permanent 3, BahDakota. Any specific examples? From what I have seen, most people just want him to play SF mainly this season, since he isn't big enough yet to play PF. I think most people expect him to move to PF as soon as he is big enough. Hell, he will play some PF this season, I am pretty sure.

Rockets need power forward. Mo near now. Go near Mo.

Griffin reminds me a lot of Pippen on the Bulls. Pippen was never a great shooter, he wasn't any better a shooter then Griffin was, and his game was VERY similar, but he turned out to be a great SF. In a motion offense, Griffin can play SF. He isn't any different then Garnett in that respect, and Garnett is a SF.
