This song. My first movie that hit a heartbeat with sex.

We all have that song that changes us.

No Judging; but mine was Lionel.

Bonus points if you can figure out the movie.

This song by the "Houston Kid"

Also, it's the dumbest thing but I always become involuntarily emotional on the 4th verse of Rock N' Roll Fantasy by the Kinks. The one that starts "there's a guy on my block, he lives for rock..." Can't really explain it. Maybe it just hits close to home.

Lost a really really really really really close friend a few months before COVID hit. She dealt with chronic respiratory infections and daily seizures. In terms of people that have had the most impact on me, she was definitely up at the top. She had limited company requested at the hospital when it was time to remove machines to let her body die.

I listen to that song and think of sitting bed side all day into night and the following morning until her time came, and I dunno. It captures the ache of waiting around being helpless to something you know is inevitable. I think of the daily seizures she endured. All the surgeries to prolong her life up to that point. The rehab sessions with OT, PT and Speech Therapy almost daily. How she fought so ****ing hard and through it all kept this attitude I found so powerful and uplifting despite it all even to the end. I mean she was a woman with chronic illnesses inherited from her parents genetics that had to run away as a teen from a physically abusive parent at home in her mom, ended up finishing high school early, went on to become a respiratory therapist that graduated at the top of her class at a private university in San Antonio at the age of 20, moved to Austin and worked at Dell Children's and did home health care as a RT, until seizures took away her ability to walk and eventually her hearing among other brain damage that affected her cognition. She was only 27 when she passed away.

I don't know that there is a vocabulary in any language available that could aptly describe just how wonderful of a woman she truly is/was.

Yeah, OTGDY, something that's difficult to get a grasp on when it happens. Recently something similar happened to someone I just know of, but she has left a huge void in the hearts of so many people including me. It took just less than 5 months for a lively young woman to wither away to D. It's still shocking to me to this day.

I had some health issues and was waiting for biopsy results when this song was big. Seemed like it was played this depressing song at least 2 times a hour if not more.
