Maledon's contract is guaranteed for this year as of 6/29/22. Next year's salary is not guaranteed but becomes fully guaranteed on 6/30/23 if not waived prior.
Acquisition of Favors makes signing WCS unnecessary. Especially if Rockets still keeping Boban for end of bench/break glass in case of emergency depth. How desperate are the Rockets to sign WCS just to get his G League rights?
I prefer starting Tate over Gordon because it means we are less likely to win, but it seems disrespectful. I wish they would go ahead and move Gordon, even if they don’t get a FRP.
Not gonna debate about Sr because his comments def hurt Jrs chances but Tate playing over KJ the last two years was ridiculous for a rebuilding team. That is on Silas too. Tari looks like the real deal defensively already. I don’t want his minutes to get stifled because of Silas love affair for Tate.
This is a good trade for the Rockets and there is very little risk involved. Theo Maledon is very talented but it’s a question of whether or not he will put the pieces together in time. I like what the Rockets have done with their point guard situation. While we wait for the inevitable freak out by Porter, the Rockets have three talented but flawed back up points competing to see if one of them develops. Flavors is a better player than Boban. While everyone in the media talks about Boban being a good teammate, Flavors is also someone quietly respected by his teammates. I will say you know you suck when Eric Gordon and Derrick Flavors are your two highest paid players.
Streaky. He has a lot of physical tools but has to focus better and improve as a shooter. He will probably wind up playing a long time in Europe but worth a look.
Yeah, I don't like playing Tate and Sengun together. Two non-shooters is not going to cut it in today's NBA.
starting tate helps us tank and also increases his trade value hopefully. i feel that he could be moved in a package with EG. they are showcasing him. then eason can start after him and gordon are traded.
