Seems like his career as a celtics hc is over. U think we can poach him at a cheaper contract to coach for us? Man can coached and for sure this cheating scandal drove his value down.
What's up with Rockets fans always wanting proven locker room cancers and franchise destroyers. Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's not a sh** idea.
Its always Hamburger to somebody and Steak to someone else. If Hov can step out on Beyonce anything is possible,
High risk high rewards. Playing it safe all the time will get u no where. This man got his team to the finals in his first year as a hc. He has the talent and skills to do it. It's sports, I could give two fk if this man commit adultery. Unless he committed even greater crimes I don't see why adultery is a reason to deny him a hc position. It's not like we have high quality coaching candidates.
Just bad optics, which eventually may lead to question after question. Coaches aren't just expected to be the Xs and Os guy. What happens when a 19-yo player goes to the coach for advice not pertaining to basketball? How's the locker room culture after the players find out? If coach can go after a high-ranking person's wife, what if he goes after my own significant other? "What is the coach teaching his impressionable young players?" "Why did they lose in the first round? Was coach too busy committing adultery, again?" "Maybe if the coach spent more time coaching and less time committing adultery, they'd be more successful..." Stuff like that. Plus, he now has a history of this. If hired, will he be going after married women in the Rockets' organization? You never know! Obviously, the coach committing adultery has literally no bearing on how a game's outcome is decided through coaching. But the optics are clearly bad.
I don't care about optics if we win. A man off court issue ain't my worries unless it prevent him from coaching/playing. Folks always wants role models in sports, I just wanna win. Like only reason I dislike house was cause he got his a$$ eliminated from playoffs. I didn't really care if he was cheating only cause he screwed any playoff chances.
Yeah, but the basketball fan in you is forgetting that the NBA / Rockets' org is a business, first and foremost. Advertisements, jerseys and other team apparel all have to be sold. I'm being very superficial about it, but if important sponsors and donors stop the flow of cash because your coach is an adulterer, guess which side the owners and league will bend the knee to. Look at what happened with Tiger Woods. His situation and Udoka's situation aren't the same, but Woods lost sponsorships from gatorade, accenture, gillette and AT&T. By keeping Udoka on, not only would the Celtics be in danger of losing sponsorships, but they'd be publicized as being a franchise who keeps an adulterer as coach just because he wins. Obviously the goal for every NBA team is to win the championship, and as fans, we don't really care if a mega millionaire is getting slightly less millions than usual. Therein lies the disconnect.
Ime broke rules #1 and #2 Don’t **** at work Don’t **** married woman (women) Neither turns out well no matter how rich you are. Hope it was worth never coaching in the league again.
Your odds of winning fall dramatically if your team has bad optics. The refs screwed us out of multiple wins against GS because Harden has bad optics. It hasn't even been that long, sort of shocking that you've already forgotten. Unless you're one of the morons that think the refs in the NBA are actually fair, optics should matter to you.
