Eras matter and that's that, at least for me. Being 7' in the 1960s does not a GOAT make.

Weird to hear Ben Taylor detractors on a Rockets site...the guy ranks Hakeem higher than any other analyst I've come across.

Loved the takes on Nash, one of my favorite players. Blew my mind that he could see him as high as like number three all time for offensive value...just like when I saw he ranked Hakeem sixth all time.

ORTG rank for prime Nash teams:
    2003: 1
    2004: 1
    2005: 1
    2006: 2
    2007: 1
    2008: 2
    2009: 2
    2010: 1

    Two teams, three coaches.

Episode 6 focusing on Chris Paul and Steph Curry.

    Few tidbits:

    Two best “small” players ever
Paul part of a group with Magic, Lebron, Nash and Harden as the best pick and roll ball handlers ever.
Paul a crazy good defender for his size.

Curry as expected just unreal offensive impact.
Curry is the only player in modern era to have highest scoring volume AND efficiency in the same season.
Curry the best off ball player ever and 10th best prime of all time.

    16. Steph Curry
    17. Chris Paul
    18. Jerry West
    19. David Robinson
    20. Julius Erving
    21. Kevin Durant
    22. Charles Barkley
    23. Steve Nash

lol nash was playing with dirk, finley, jamison, nick van exel, and a whole host of fantastic offensive players etc under offensive guru don nelson, and then on the suns he played for mike dantoni with 7 seconds or less. I think those team offenses have less to do with nash, and more to do with the situation he was in. Dantoni in particular can make any lead guard look better than he is, see jeremy lin and raymond felton

at the end of the day, these rankings are still just ONE guys opinion. I'll stick with basketball reference

Top 6 rating for Hakeem is pretty high coming from a non-Houston commentator. Nice to see that recognition.

Reminder this isn’t a best player ever list. Or best “peak”. Or best 10 year stretch. It’s most career value added, where a combo of peak and longevity are both considered into a total. I’d advise before anyone loses their mind, to actually take the time to listen to the detail of numbers/film study he goes into in this revisit series and his explanation of his decisions.

I missed it and didn’t feel like going back to search and find what he said about the final spots for Hakeem and Shaq. But here’s the list.

    1. Lebron James
    2. Kareem
    3. Michael Jordan
    4. Bill Russell
    5. Hakeem/Shaq
    6. Shaq/Hakeem
    7. Tim Duncan
    8. Wilt Chamberlain
    9. Kevin Garnett
    10. Larry Bird
    11. Magic Johnson
    12. Kobe Bryant
    13. Karl Malone
    14. Oscar Robertson
    15. Dirk Nowitzki
    16. Steph Curry
    17. Chris Paul
    18. Jerry West
    19. David Robinson
    20. Julius Erving
    21. Kevin Durant
    22. Charles Barkley
    23. Steve Nash
    24. John Stockton
    25. Dwyane Wade
    26. Scottie Pippen
    27. Moses Malone
    28. Rick Barry
    29. Reggie Miller
    30. James Harden
    31. Bob Pettit
    32. John Havlicek
    33. Jason Kidd
    34. Artis Gilmore
    35. Patrick Ewing
    36. Paul Pierce
    37. Walt Frazier
    38. Elgin Baylor
    39. Isiah Thomas
    40. Clyde Drexler

At the very end of the episode for reference he listed in his opinion the top 10 best 8 year peaks.

    1. Michael Jordan
    2. Lebron James
    3. Kareem
    4. Bill Russell
    5. Hakeem/Shaq
    6. Shaq/Hakeem
