I think y’all are underestimating how easy it is to win games against teams trying to lose if you don’t match their tank. The Rockets definitely would have pushed towards 30 wins if they didn’t try to lose those last few weeks, especially if EG had better health earlier in the season. Tanking is the smartest choice. The probability that Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun are suddenly top 40 players and drag us into the playoffs is near zero. KPJ has some chance to make a leap this year but he can’t be trusted so who cares.
3 is kinda the minimum number if you're serious about trying to build something IMO, unless you get a generational guy and then i would settle for 2 but prefer 3, in our situation i'd prefer 4 but b/c of the russ trade we can't sadly
severely overestimating EG, and the Rockets were the worst team all year by almost every metric…they couldn’t win games if they tried
Actually, think of it I was way wrong... Rockets have a much higher chance of making the playoffs than Harden winning a chip... Which by the way is the only thing Harden consistently brings to the table.. A yearly playoff appearance.

Making the playoffs is cool for sure, knowing you are going to get bounced in the 1st or 2nd round isn't. I had hopes for Harden until choke job number 3 or 4. I actually didn't mind a rebuild because I really wanted Rockets to have a fresh start and build the right way. Previous management and ownership were dead set on mediocracy to keep Rockets in the playoffs and people in the seats. I'm exited to see Green and Jabari eventually make the playoffs.

Now that we have Ty Jerome, I see a 3rd or 4th seed but only because we lose some early games figuring out who plays best off of Jerome.
