Lakers get 10 minutes worth of footage, we get pictures and maybe 30 seconds of video… Why can’t our social media people give us real content?
If I can't....GET FAT THERE....I can't get fat ANYWHERE, it's up to you, Hous-ton, Hous-TOOOOOOON....
Lakers have a professional group of social media people. Tillman probably has one person and it's an unpaid internship...
Ah, ok. That's pretty clever. On the other hand, Garuba didn't have the personal coaching, so in order to simulate tired legs he got fat. Also clever.
He should have played more but it wasn’t a glaring omission. The guys in front of him didn’t really set a high bar either. Pouting ain’t the way, go out and take that ****.
he just doesn’t seem to be in the team’s plans he plays well enough when he’s out there, but some random player like Gary Matthews who’s not even good immediately surpasses him in the rotation once joining the team
KJ post-ASB: 9 and 3 on 55/42/60 splits…still gets just 23 mpg during that span playing for the worst team in the league while Gary Matthews shoots 37% from the field and is still ahead of him in the rotation I see why he’s mad…he just doesn’t have the clout or cache to be trying to do something about it now we’ve added more wings in Tari and Jabari, with KJ’s next contract opportunity fast approaching
I always thought Tate was taking minutes that could have been used for KJ. Didn’t think about Matthews who probably isn’t a regular rotation player on any team. I agree that he should have played more but part of his issue with being a tweener is it’s less obvious where those minutes come from.
I feel for him. His problem is really out of his control - he just isn’t big enough for the skill set he has. He plays like a PF but he has the frame of a big SG. He’s a talented athlete and has NBA level skills but teams have cut back on players like his Dad and the ones that remain are just much bigger/stronger than KJ. There are certainly things KJ can do to make him stick around the league a little longer but I think it’s unrealistic to think he will ever develop a guard or wings style of play. He should just play Euro ball - probably will be a monster player there and make some decent coins. Unfortunately the NBA requires all the skills KJ has but also size he doesn’t have - I give him three more years riding the bench tops before his international career starts.
They're looking to hire a social media specialist/content creator, if he/she hasn't been hired already. Hopefully it will get better soon.
https://theathletic.com/3635694/2022/09/28/rockets-defense-training-camp/ To close the first session of the day, the teams scrimmaged. The Athletic understands there were three groups, both in training camp and during their Bahamas retreat last week. On Tuesday, the beginning groups were as follows: Group 1 — Porter, Green, Gordon, Jabari Smith, Alperen Şengün Group 2 — Daishen Nix, Josh Christopher, Garrison Mathews, Jae’Sean Tate, Usman Garuba, Bruno Fernando Group 3 — TyTy Washington Jr., Trevor Hudgins, Kenyon Martin Jr., Tari Eason, David Nwaba, Boban Marjanović This time last year during camp, both Tate and Gordon saw reps with the starting group, and this was the case on Tuesday. The Athletic reported in May that Gordon is on course to reclaim his starting spot, and this is still true. But Tate will still play a major role, and there will be many times in games when Tate plays with the starters. It’s important to give different looks as the team continues to prepare for the upcoming season. There were instances when even Trey Burke shared the floor with the likes of Smith, Gordon, Tate and Green. You will see everything in camp. More camp notes • It was surprising and also intriguing to hear from one team source that Green and Fernando were defensive standouts on Day 1. We touched on Green’s improved physique on media day, which will be important for his endeavors on defense. Porter touched on the significance during media day, acknowledging the scoring talent of the group but understanding that they were smaller and needed to have better effort, energy and move in one accord. Porter took strides last year as a defender. Could we see the same for Green in his second season? • There was no sign of Willie Cauley-Stein at media day or camp, but my hunch is he will be officially signed sometime this week and is put on some sort of G League plan with the Rio Grande Vipers to get him up to speed, similar to what the Rockets did with Mathews last season.
I hate this Gordon should be traded or 2nd unit, Tari needs to at least be 2nd unit with the chance to earn the starting spot.
