    I was under the impression that the annual increase was calculated based on the Y1 amount of the contract. I.e.

    Y1 = 5,200,000
    Y2 = 5,720,000
    Y3 = 6,240,000
    Y4 = 6,760,000
    Total = 23,920,000

    I still can't picture Brent Barry guarding a Steve Nash or a Tony Parker type of point guard;

    on those nights the Rockets will learn exactly what they signed.

    And I can't picture Steve Nash or Tony Parker stopping his jumpshot or 3 pointer.

    So, you're right. Rocket's will learn exactly what they signed.

    $41M Adonal Foyle
    $48M Mehmet Okur (reported)
    $65M Steve Nash
    $38M Marquise Daniels

    Someone will make a $30M offer for BB. Crazy money being thrown around, $24M doesn't look like it will buy you much in this market.

    I'd certainly prefer a 3 year full MLE, but I would not lose Barry over the 4th year. There really isn't an attainable URFA near as valuable to us than BB IMO. Also, 4 years at 24 mil is almost always better for the signing team than 3 years at 24 mil (above MLE money). I can't imagine other teams, including Seattle, wanting to offer more than a 4 year MLE level contract given his age--most teams are not champioship contenders the next few years.

    Seattle has Bird Rights, but no formal oppertunnity to match if Barry signs the dotted line with us. There is no reason to talk to them about a S&T for Barry.

    Who in their right mind is going to give Foyle more than a $10 million contract.

    Evidently, the Warriors. See the NBA forum, that's their offer, and he'd be absolutely stupid to refuse.

    In NBA 2004(by EA), the Houston rocket with

    Yao
    Lue
    Tmac
    Howard
    JJ

    has a team rating of 89, i saw this thread and traded lue + AG for BB, and now rox has a rating of 99, lol, I also beat Memphis on teh hardest difficulty which i failed to do without BB,

    so... let's take BB, :)

    If it were possible, wouldn't it be better to offer Barry $10M per year for two years in a SnT? The Rockets save $4M and he's off the books in time for resigning Yao. In two years we should be able to develop or draft a decent point guard, and Barry gets roughly the same money.

    Barry is an un-restricted FA, why the heck would we do a sign and trade with Seattle? Neither would Barry, he could go wherever he wants, why bother?

    F*ck the draft pick, we want the Championship. I honestly believe that Barry brings us very very close to championship status. All we would need is a bruising PF next year and then it happens........NBA CHAMPS then DYNASTY
