    It's so sad and pathetic.

Black scientists in the US especially during the era of Carver had significantly worse access to educational resources. THAT is why they are praised. They are praised precisely because they overcame ridiculous odds to get where they were. The amount of daily interactions that put Black people down during that era and you still end up becoming an influential scientist? Damn that's impressive and that is why it's celebrated.

I made it about 20 minutes into Azerrad's 1hr20 minute presentation. I had to stop. There are so many logical fallacies that I have no idea how this guy got any sort of degree.

They are associated with Yahweh Ben Yahweh, who was convicted of attempted murder and lead a cult.

In the past they have preached that Jews and whites are infidels and the spawn of satan.

Are these guys a spinoff of Nation of Islam? According to the founder Elijah Mohammed, white people were created by an evil scientist. I'm not sure how much this belief still exist in the current Nation of Islam.

Once he wilted when confronted by Trump on national television at the debate he was in long term trouble. He had no idea how to handle Trump or how to think on his feet and go off his speaking points. He was exposed at a gut check level that is important to a lot of Republicans. He at this point has to try and just hold on and hope the Republican party eventually shifts back. I don't think the Republicans are going to be Trump MAGA going forward, but it has left an imprint and Rubio's 1980's and 1990's style of presentation and Republicanism is gone. Voters don't care that Rubio served or did the social climber things needed to be in a position of authority..... it is simple, either you get them or you don't, and Rubio doesn't get them.

They are certainly heavily influenced by the Nation of Islam, and they loosely share parts of fundamental Islam and also parts of the Nation of Islam; but they are a cult that was founded and lead by Yahweh Ben Yahweh who recruited black Hebrew Israelites (who believe they are the REAL Israelites) and formed his cult. They have a lot of connections with organized crime. A lot of them have been convicted of multiple murders. The leader was charged with multiple RICO violations. They are legitimately crazy and their beliefs often contradict each other. I am guessing they are aligned with Trump because of Q or it is for attention or a money grab. A central belief of their religion is that white people are evil, yet they support Trump.

Trump is like a vacuum for all of these marginalized extremist groups that figure if Trump will take their support, maybe they will get something out of it.

Yes that very well maybe the case for the party. If Trump loses relevance the party will most likely be DeSantis'. As I said in another thread he can be capable but his path to power is through Nixonian partisan division.

They know he wasn't sent here by God. They know he is a POS, but he told them it is okay to hate gays and women and foreigners.....and he got abortion overturned.... that and giving them a little attention is all it took. They are used to having hypocritical shitty leaders at church, so don't get it confused.

A fair number of people will not believe it.... but it will remind them that democrats have decided to fight this cultural battle and it isn't a good one for the democrats. A lot of people do not want to hear about trangendered or non binary people complaining about pronouns or what the definition of what a woman is when inflation is through the roof, when abortion rights have been taken and when we have a proxy war in Europe.

A lot of people will not voice their opinions out of being shouted down or called bigoted by a very loud minority. In this case the governor referred to pregnant women as "pregnant people" and that just slides perfectly into all of this. There are a lot of moderate Americans that want some degree of stability and simplicity and LGBTQ+ and even some justice reform laws don't give the illusion that the democrats understand this.

I am sure I will get pushback and I don't really care. I am not even saying that these are not important issues, but from the perspective of getting elected they are losers for the Democrats. It is why the branding of DeSantis is brilliant, he has gained control of the curriculum in Florida schools and hasn't painted it as bigotry but that he is putting children and families first.

Did Democrats chose the cultural battle?

Or did social media algorithms and right wing grifters on places like YouTube chose this battle for Democrats?

I'll provide an example of my point. I'm not sure if you heard of the Anthony Edwards situation but basically he got fined 40 grand by the NBA for recording a group of gay men without their permission minding their own business and said "look at them queer ass n*, what has the world come to".

My Facebook news feed the following day was filled with memes saying "Anthony Edwards punished for saying the word 'queer' " and so many of the comments hearing about this story for the first time through this meme and assuming that he got fined merely for saying a word rather than him recording a group of gay dudes and saying they are bad for society.

My point is the amount Democrats concentrate on these issues is HEAVILY skewed by the success of right wing social media and accounts like "libsoftictok". You know I'm left leaning. I read and listen to left leaning content and all this stuff about critical race theory and gender pronouns was new to me until the right told me I am offended.

I think the right has done a successful media campaign for the past 4 years painting the notion that you will encounter a transgender person at work who will get you fired because you misgendered them.

the amount of energy and effort Democrats put into fighting this cultural battle is not high at all, it just isn’t…Republicans are the ones amplifying this because they simply can’t run on policy

The governor once said “pregnant people.” Now that is fear mongered into the “the governor wants a drag queen in every classroom.” Ridiculous. Republicans spend so much time talking about trans people in classrooms or some single trans person playing a sport because they have nothing else but cultural wars to fall back on. They have no policy. They have zero solutions.
