I’m pretty sure Korey Lee is the first Astros prospect ever to hit 25 HR in a single season at a single level and play most of his games at catcher.
They say a player can learn a lot the first trip to the majors Lee really appears to have taken a step. I'm encouraged
Absolutely, you get a crash course in "what I need to work on at this level" with daily input from the coaches, players and video assistants and such.
Dumbo will just leave him on the bench. Hopefully it's true he won't be making any decisions in the postseason
That's not exactly true. It's pretty common knowledge and reported in multiple places that Dusty will have much less authority to make decisions in the post season but he still will make in game strategy and substitutions. What I have read along with my general assumptions is that the entire organization lead by Click will decide the playoff roster. Dusty will have input but not decision making authority. As for starting lineups, I am not sure who has final say but heard that Dusty will have less authority than the regular season.
I would like Meyers called back up now that the AAA season is over. They can replace Yanier since he isn't playing anyway but keep him around to learn. Then give Jake 2-3 starts to finish the season and see if the improvements will translate to MLB games. 2020 Jake in CF gives the team the best chance. 2021 Jake is the best backup to Chas and gives them a better chance than Dubon.
Leon had a nasty HBP and got lucky he didn't end up like Dickie Thon. It set him back a bit after really improving his K rate this summer. I hope he can get that out of his system and pick up where he left off.
If they aren’t going to carry a 3rd catcher and are going to carry 14 position players, I think Meyers will almost certainly be on the playoff roster.
No need to check him closely. Biggio hit a total of 12 home runs in his short time in the minors. Perhaps you should check Alan Knicely closely.
