First, I was under the impression that you cannot foul out of these games but that does not seem to be the case as Murphy and Densch did. I am not sure what to make of Colson. You cannot blame the guy for reaching to prove and although he is scoring alot it does seem like he is running the show and getting assists. I would have to say that he is a major threat to Anderson at the moment in that he could be our fifth guard behind Cat, Wink, Moochie and Williams. Not a bad insurance policy at the point. In game two, the team when to the charity line 36 times thanks to Langhi, Morris and Colson. Very positive sign. The Rockets need another big body; someone let's say 260+lbs and 6-11 or taller, a bruiser type. Could Hamilton or Densch fit that role although they are more like 240lbs. On the issue of playing time and the maintenance of confidence. Rudy T when he is ready and have no choice plays rookies big time. In fact, Maloney is the poster boy for that. If he has a choice Rudy T will not play the rookie and sometime the cost is the wrecking of the rookie's confidence. The poster boy for that is Dan the Man. At last year's summer league, Dan was also the man as he was at Vandi. Rudy used Bullard instead of Langhi going into the season and interrupted Dan's momentum and before you know it the confidence is gone. Yes he was thin and so on, but I believe that had Rudy gone to him like he went to Collier, when he did not have a choice, Dan would have had a different year. So let hope 1. that Dan gets his time this year and 2. that Morris is not put through the same unfortunate scenario because if the high schoolers are going to get minutes then the senior(Morris) should not have to sit and wait, just to please somebody like Anderson. Finally, you might have gather that I do not want Anderson. Simply put he is not needed. Probably I would have felt differently if he had not let Kobe go off like that last year. ------------------
I believe you are right about Langhi. We'll have to wait and see what Rudy will do with T-Mo, Griff, and DAnforth. All these guys are playing pretty damn well in the summer leagues, especially Langhi. Griff hasnt been scoring much, but I'm sure that'll come around; either way he's been rebounding and blocking shots. T-mo has been pretty solid too, and has showed that stroke that he has. We'll have to wait & see. ------------------ its not the hours you put in your work that counts, it's the work you put in the hours - alaskansnowman
Once again a lot of three throws (23 to 5)... In La, 22 assists to 12 turnovers.. Colson should mean goodbye to Anderson... Densch has serious range..... We need another center, Jason is not ready... ------------------
My take is that we now have the lattitude to sign Anderson, BUT ONLY ON OUR TERMS. Priorites will be re-signing Dream, Taylor and Mooch. I also have this gnawing feeling that a significant trade may be made involving Cato, Walt, and maybe others after July 18 official signing date. The young core of this team, including Griffin, Langhi, and Morris will be kept intact.
I hate to say it but we may have to consider signing and trading Moochie, + for a big man. Colson's play may allow us to do that. The point being that Colson could replace Moochie but does not have the same trade value. It would be a very unpopular move. ------------------
We need another center, Jason is not ready... And we can tell this after two games in which he was nowhere near 100% and trying to recover from a serious knee injury? ------------------ Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. Collier did not just arrive on the scene. He does have a jumper and worked the pick and roll well with Mobes. However, news of him looking slow are consistent with my impressions of him last season. Although with the game chat and listening to the games on the radio, i got the impression that he was a good runner. I just think that the Rockets cannot afford to over-rely on him as he could be holding down an IR spot for the first quarter of the season. I guess things could be worse in that he could be performing like Joel the buck who he was traded for. What a mistake by George Karl! ------------------
Just a snapshot of an apologist's world: Now that's funny. The Cat, given this admittedly "serious knee injury", why would you disagree with DearRock's assertion that the Rockets "need another center"? Actually I'll add, how does this make a shred of sense to you at all?

Last I checked, the season started in November, and not in July... ------------------ Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. Profiles, rankings, mock drafts, and more! Maybe we should wait! I hear we have no problems at the 5! Dream seems to have a foot out the door, Cato is giving his IRA a workout, and Collier is holding his knee. Dang I wish you had bet on heyp's side. It would have been awesome to change your name to The Ostrich. LOL!
Achebe, I fully agree we need another center. Always have. I really think we should be using Shandon's money for that purpose. However, Collier's readiness is not the reason. Collier is fine to be a good role player for 15 minutes per game from the backup center spot. However, besides him, we have Dream who is never healthy and may leave and we have Cato who is a complete waste of space. We need Marc Jackson or Nazr Mohammed... but Collier isn't the reason. ------------------ Draftsource.net-- the premier source for draft info. Profiles, rankings, mock drafts, and more! It's actually Dench - I know they list it as Densch in the Summer League rosters, but that's incorrect (although one would've thought they'd get that right...). Even though the guy has range, I wouldn't sign him - he's a little physically weak and has terribly slow feet in defense. We'll need to look somewhere else for that center. ------------------
