After spending some more time with this album, I think I may have underestimated how much I like it. I'm having trouble thinking of the last time I listened to an album from a newish bad that I liked this much. Maybe Teen Dream by Beach House, which was like 12 years ago? This may be the best album I have heard since then. It's a good combo of art and post-rock with an extra layer of baroque strings and saxophone mixed in. The songs have a warmth to them without being too pretentious or coldly technical, which sometimes prevents me from really getting into a lot of these types of bands (which includes their first album from last year). This one is a masterpiece.
Yea, I got the Dukes of Stratosphear compilation album and already had all their other studio albums. I am going to continue to keep them in the rotation as unfortunately, outside of Skylarking and Oranges and Lemons, I have neglected their other albums. But neglect no more!
That might have been the only song that stood out for the Amboy Dukes. I really liked his album with Stranglehold and didn't have as much interest in his later albums.
All of the albums by Pavement Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain Brighten the Corners Wowee Zowee Slanted and Enchanted Terror Twilight
Still love that Stranglehold album (sic), but feel guilty when I play it... Anyone else watch Floyd in the rain at Jeppesen stadium? https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/concerts/pink-floyd-jeppessen-stadium-houston-tx-april-30th-1977.html
Was watching a film production studio break down Tarantino films, scripts, and camera viewpoints, which led to listening to Jim Croce in one of the scenes and then other tracks.
