So far, I have heard two somewhat plausible theories why they did not simply fire him. 1. They wanted to save money. They wouldn't have to pay him if he was suspended without pay. If he was fired, they would have to pay the remaining part of his guaranteed salary. While not knowing the details of the nature of the suspension and his contract, I think this is unlikely. The potential damage to the team would be more than the money's worth. 2. They were concerned that Udoka might sue them and would lead to a messy and lengthy lawsuit. I find this theory unlikely too. If the violation was clear enough to hand him a full season suspension, it should be clear enough to fire him, unless there was some kind of technicality on firing that Udonka's side could use to make a case. I don't know. It is still a mystery to me.
So have we found out what exactly happened? ie why it's just Udoka facing punishment and not the females? At first it just sounded like people sleeping with each other, but obviously that's not the case?
The Celtics probably wants to negotiate a buyout with Udoka where he agrees to stay quiet. That way can avoid a lawsuit from Udoka and avoid him trying to push some of the blame onto the Celtics or badmouthing the organization.
I'm pretty sure if the head coach was a woman and she's sleeping with married male staffers, it would be a pretty juicy scandal too.
On what grounds could Ime sue the organization? Seems like y’all are tossing out that angle just cause
Yeah, trying to preempt a lawsuit from Udoka makes no sense. Having an inappropriate relationship (which probably means one that has ethical red flags, like having it with someone below you in the org chart) is perfectly reasonable grounds for firing. If the Celtics actually have rules against it, a firing is arguably the most warranted response. Either way, Udoka would have no legal grounds to challenge it. People seem to think any negative thing happening to someone is grounds for a lawsuit.
Dang, that poonani must’ve been fire when you willing to get your dik wet inside the establishment. Why not just go to countless dive bars in and around Boston? Plenty of drunken chicken heads willing to do that. I ain’t messin wit no chickenhead if I’m a coach in the biggest sports organization on the planet. I’m gettin me a hood rat right across the street. Know the game before you dive into homey
Speaking as a married straight man, in the workplace, it's best not to say to or do anything with a female colleague that you would not if your wife was standing beside you. You can avoid a lot of misunderstandings of intent that way.
Someone summarize the story for me. Which chiks is he banging? @Jontro Nia Long single? has Lebron James come out to say this is racist?
Ime Udoka Affair Was with Team Travel Planner, Organized Nia Long's Travel Too https://www.tmz.com/2022/09/24/celt...ssistant-travel-planner-nia-long-move-boston/
I've been out of the pro sports social media loop for a while, but when was the last time LeBron called something out as racist that wasn't at least "a little bit" racist?
