Awful timing, handled very poorly and now stuck w/ a coach who has no experience. Way to go Celtics, in the year you’re honouring Bill Russell and this is what you’ll be remembered for. Ime Udoka should’ve had more sense too for sure.
Excerpt From Shams Article: "Some members of the Celtics organization first became aware of the relationship in July, sources said. At that time, team leadership was led to believe by both parties that the relationship was consensual. But sources said that the woman recently accused Udoka of making unwanted comments toward her — leading the team to launch a set of internal interviews. The team’s decision and announcement came after a closed-door meeting Thursday that involved team owners and president Brad Stevens and lasted several hours, sources said. Earlier Thursday, Stevens and members of the Celtics front office met with players at the team facility."
Translation: It was consensual. But she had a husband and got caught, so goes off crying. Yawn. This scenario is getting too played out.
Translation: She liked the attention that a more attractive and exciting man gave her and she banged and had no problem with it until she realized she would be found out and her bang partner wouldn’t marry her. So now she is blaming her bang partner so her husband doesn’t go insane and she doesn’t lose her partner. She went from banging an exciting good looking dude to now portraying him as some nasty dude named Grady that is making gross comments to her in the hall.
At first I felt this had to be the biggest overreaction of all time. But…if anyone was screwing the spouse of a co-worker and had a relationship with another coworker and was warned to stop they would be fired from most companies in the US. So maybe the year long suspension is fine. (If those allegations are true).
Would a superstar player who is a de facto organizational leader get a 1 year suspension for consensual sexual relations? I very much doubt it. I don’t get why a fine wouldn’t have been adequate here. “Unwanted comment” means … what?
You are leaving out that it was consensual. One looked like Udoka's mirror version as a female. Female have similar urges. They were looking for extramarital excitement.
No problemo bruh, but touching on another aspect, knowing what I know from the Union and Wade relationship, actresses have their own stuff going so they are hardly accompanying players all the time. If a woman working a normal job is not cutting it how do you see actresses keeping up with their man? And I am pretty pro fining this dude.
Yeah, They both probably admitted to banging and both were warned, She's now claiming that he won't stop pursuing her and hubby is demanding Udoka's firing. If it's true Udoka got a warning and kept on, he should be fired. Same for her if she kept it going after a warning,
Furthermore, if it's true Udoka was making inappropriate comments toward or about her while at work it's a very big deal. Sarver was suspended and essentially forced to sell his team for making inappropriate mysognistic/racial comments. The Celtics need to take action in this matter or be liable in a possible sexual harrisment claim. The last thing they want to deal with is being a plaintiff in a he said she said lawsuit.
I wasn't making any moral judgment. Just an observation that he's reckless if he really did what the tweets are saying. To use another expression: he's got balls.
What does filing a lawsuit get him? He might get some money key word might, but he would be done as the coach of the Celtics, and he loses any other chance at a long term job in the NBA. You also don't know what is in his contract, and fraternization is in most contracts at the level he was in. There were plenty of people who knew about this before they decided to suspend him, do you really think this would not have been talked about?
