Trump begins openly embracing and amplifying false fringe QAnon conspiracy theory On Tuesday, using his Truth Social platform, the Republican former president reposted an image of himself wearing a Q lapel pin overlaid with the words “The Storm is Coming.” In QAnon lore, the “storm” refers to Trump’s final victory, when supposedly he will regain power and his opponents will be tried, and potentially executed, on live television. Of nearly 75 accounts Trump has reposted on his Truth Social profile in the past month, more than a third of them have promoted QAnon by sharing the movement's slogans, videos or imagery. About 1 in 10 include QAnon language or links in their profile bios. Earlier this month, Trump chose a QAnon song to close out a rally in Pennsylvania. The same song appears in one of his recent campaign videos and is titled "WWG1WGA," an acronym used as a rallying cry for Q adherents that stands for "Where we go one, we go all." https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politi...plifying-false-fringe-qanon-conspiracy-theory
Am I the only one who thinks "duh" when I see someone in the media being like "OMG look he's courting QAnon, etc. etc."??? Like the guys that started QAnon were essentially Trump associates. It was always a pro-Trump propaganda campaign started by Trump's inner circle for Trump's fansbase. The Democrats have no been strong enough to tie Trump to QAnon and some of the utterly bizarre ideals, and make ALL Republicans own it. Far too often people get away with being like "What's QAnon" and acting dumb when you know damn well they are Trump supporters who flirt with the content at some level, and then act dumb because they know they'll look like idiots if they openly embrace a cult that believe Democrats drink the blood of children, and that liberal world leaders are all lizard people, etc. QAnon is as MAGA Republican as Medicare for All is for Progressive Democrats. We need to make them own this crap.
By taking fringe ideas mainstream, the former US president taught new and dangerous lessons about manipulating social and mass media. no better eg than the birtherism rhetoic, a conspiracy theory originally propagated by Q. then Trump embraced the lie and took it mainstaream. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/67-times-donald-trump-tweeted-birther-movement/story?id=42145590 67 Times Donald Trump Tweeted About the 'Birther' Movement; Trump also accused Hillary Clinton of starting the birther movement.
Idk how th3se two could even be compared to one another. One wants universal Healthcare something that is done all over the world while the other group believes in conspiracies.
It was only a matter of time until he admitted it, he knows he has to get every fringe group fired up because he is about to go down the drain and needs more folks to call out the "lie" and this group is more then happy to do it..................that wasn't a very bigly crowd
he’s not even trying to be subtle about it anymore? Doesn’t QAnon have its origins in peddling child p*rn? Or am I thinking about something else that many Republicans embrace?
Wait, let me guess. The guy who says he doesn't support Trump, but bends over backwards to criticize anyone posting Trump's recent BS.
I think Trump openly embracing QAnon is a sign of desperation. As things get worse for him legally he’s going to embrace the fringe even more.
There is no equivalence. I’m just saying it’s as much as part of them as something as core as healthcare as a right is for those on the left. One side is different from the other though. One actually wants to help people. The other only wants the world to burn if they can’t get what they want.
