Took me a second to recognize the magician. It was the director from Entourage. More embarrassed I used to like Entourage than I am about liking SHE hulk.
The Episode was meh Had like 1 good Joke (ole girl saying She Hulk looking like a football player) Rocket River
This show is decent when there's not constant on-the-nose social commentary being shoved down our throats. So far though, there's not really an aspect of "Hulk" to the show. It's basically a show about a superhero who has to deal with the fact that her alter-ego is superpowered and that the identity growing more and more public by the day. Not quite a lawyer show. Not quite a superhero show. Not a drama. Somewhat of a comedy? If all She-Hulk aims to be is a filler show, it's doing a good job of it.
Yee. Not EVERYTHING has to be SOMETHING. Some of my favorite shows, Sunny in Philly, Seinfeld, etc are not about anything. It'd be like watching What We Do in the Shadows and being like - why are they remodeling a house?
I think people just have high expectations of anything that the Marvel factory churns out. And so far, nothing post-Endgame has really been a complete hit. Using your Seinfeld example, everything post-Seinfeld that Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander and Michael Richards have all been a part of, has largely failed. Julia Louis-Dreyfuss had Veep, which was great, but that's been it for the quartet. And I think people expected a Seinfeld-level of quality from those guys in whatever they do, but they just couldn't replicate the success of Seinfeld. And I think you're seeing that, with all the criticisms with every piece of Marvel media. Besides, I guess, season 1 of Loki.
Spider Man checked all the boxes for me. They used the entire two decades of franchise material and made a decent movie out of it. Strange was above average mostly because of the Illuminati. Endgame is still the culmination of ten years of Marvel and 4-5 crossover movies before it. Pretty high bar we won't see crossed anytime soon.
She-Hulk is trying something different for Marvel. I enjoy it. Is it the Best thing Marvel has done? No. However, it is watchable.
i can't believe i'm saying this, but i'm gonna start skipping marvel series and films. especially the b-characters. if deesee can chug out more like peacemakers, i may convert.
I've watched 4 episodes so far. It's....okay. There are some real cringe moments, particularly the feminist angles and breaking the 4th wall, but the cameos have been carrying the plot so far.
Or maybe just treat it like a normal comic book publisher where you just view the content that comes out that’s interesting to you and the characters you like to follow. The good news about Marvels post Endgame strategy is there’s a ton of content from various corners of the universe that are only loosely connected. There’s a decent variety too now. That’s why I don’t really get the whole definitive “I’m Done!!” statements. I don’t think Marvel is expecting everyone or really anyone to be all in on everything moving forward. That’s why a show like Moon Knight didn’t need to have plot threads in it from Spider-Man or Captain America. But yeah some of the MCU stuff lately hasn’t been amazing but that’s fine to me. She Hulk is a pure Ally McBeal style comedy that just isn’t all that funny so I’m not a fan, but a sign that the MCU knows what it’s doing is that they released it at the same time as House of the Dragon, and Rings of Power. They knew it wasn’t appointment viewing and that’s okay.
FEMALES, AMIRITE?! Not as good as Wanda Vison and Loki but better than all the other Marvel Shows so far.
