agree. A dude of that size with surgeries on both knees under his belt doesn’t need to be playing the field full time.

You have to play him 1/2 time.

He is a very good outfielder with a great arm and he wants to play the outfield. He also hits better when he plays the field.

And he has had no knee issues since recovery from surgery.

    But not an everyday outfielder.

McCormick vs LHP is perfect compliment.

They both lied to him. Crane is not hiring either of them. Hinch is not a good manager unless he has ELITE talent. He is not going to make average talent...above average/elite. Lunhow is done in baseball. So devastating that the Astros have made 2 ALCS, 1WS since he was fired? Hyperbole, much?

Apologize? LOL. For firing his lying ass? LOL.

I loved Kirk Gibson as a player but he is a very monotone commentator. My eyes keep closing.

Ok please Dusty don't allow potential run #4 to get on base.

If he gets in trouble, pull him after 3 runners get on.

Exactly. We need the record baby. Framber deserves it seriously. A stellar season.

    AJ Hinch….

considered a god by many Astro fans.

got this gig when we were loaded with super talented youngsters and a virtuoso GM. He was definitely in the catbird seat for major league managers. However, while enjoying the ride, he didn’t even stop the cheating. Before that he was fired by Arizona after just a season and a half. Now he is struggling mightily with Detroit. I know the Tigers are hurting for talent but still….Hinch might suck, folks.

    thoughts?

Remember that with all the crap Dusty catches here, including from me, he would’ve stopped the cheating. You know he would’ve.

Hinch made some head scratching moves fairly often. We generally gave him a pass because we were finally winning. He hasn’t done much at all outside of his stint here, which was a golden situation.

Imagine having J.V., Framber, and Hunter Brown as your 1-2-3 starters for the next 3 seasons.

What another great start by Framber. I'm just happy we scored runs this game. ANY runs.

More like, imagine having Lance McCullers Jr and Cristian Javier in your rotation and they're only the #4 and #5 starters. (Assuming JV re-signs, and they all stay away from the injury and regression bugs).

    Significant event here.

We've scored 5 runs after scoring double digits the game before

Exactly good point and Urquidy too. I just think it has to be a given you resign Verlander. That would be the dumbest move ever not to.

Definitely. We have the money, and while he'll ask for a high AAV, he is about to turn 40 and definitely won't command more than 4 years. It's teh one type of big money deal the Astros have been willing to hand out - Not long term, and therefore less risk. In my opinion, I like it when a strong rotation has that one "alpha" who sets the tone both on the mound and in the clubhouse. Verlander has clearly been that guy for us the moment we made the trade, just as he was for the Tigers all those years in Detroit. We have lots of other good guys on the team but none of them are ready to ascend to that role yet.

So 24 is now in the bag.

25 will be the new single season record if he gets it next start.

26 will tie the all time record set by DeGrom and Gibson (a couple of schmucks).

27 all time MLB record awaits in his last regular season start of 2022.
