Historically, Jesus has almost always been portrayed by a white man. Where is the outrage?????

The movies that are getting woke remakes are classics, does not matter if its a children's cartoon or a long lasting adult franchise. The reason these movies are classics is because they mean something to a lot of people. Either they watched them growing up or during a special point in their lives. The movies were also good enough to create a long lasting effect on the viewer.

So why remake a classic film at all? Most of the time its because studios have become lazy and rather remake something with source material other than write something fresh and new. Problem is they aren't respecting the source material, whether its skin color or character assassination to better fit the studio's woke ideology.

Name one woke film that has been good, not just a blockbuster failure but actually good. One remake that built upon the classic film they tried to either expand or remake. I can't think of a single one at the moment.

But since most ya'll want to make this about race, lets talk about race. Conservatives are just mad brown folks are getting roles, yeah... That's it... Because most of us did not grow up watching Will Smith films and tv shows. Because Martin Lawrence was so hated for being black. Because Denzel Washington is one of the best actors of all times in some of the best films. Same goes for Morgan Freeman, Halle Barry and Cuba Gooding JR never get roles. Jada Pinkett Smith and Vivica A Fox are nobodies because people in general don't like black actors and actresses. There have always been black actors, black musicians. Its never been a problem, its not a problem now. There is no mass racism that Democrats have tried pushing for the last 6 years.

Ya'll know damn well all it would never be accepted for a black character to be swapped. Ya'll can say you don't care but there is no way it would happen. It would be labeled straight up racism. But its not racism the other way around, why? I want black original characters to remain black.

But would any you accept Tom Holland as The Fresh Prince of Bel Air? I wouldn't.... I would want a remake to stay true to its source material. That's so much to ask. For a remake to look and feel like the original.

 

Ya those black actors stayed in their lane, that's why conservatives "tolerate them". They played roles "meant for black people". I'm sure the political demographic of people who have Fresh Prince as one of their favorite shows disproportionately skews liberal/left. Also those same conservatives never b****ed about white Moses or white Persian princes or white Jesus.

So ya it's tied to racism or white privilege at best.

 

I think this says a lot about your world view. Fresh Prince was a show about a Black family in the United States. Due to American history, Black families encounter things that non black families in the US don't usually encounter. Therefore being black is central to the premise of the show.

A elf is a mythical race in European literature. So when a Black person is cast as an elf and people are angry over it, they are subconsciously saying that black people don't belong in European/English culture.

A black elf won't change any of the themes and story points in Tolkien's universe. Having a white person be the central premises protaganist of Fresh Prince would defeat the central premise of the show.

When there is market demand for it you communist. Don't you realize Hollywood greenlights projects based on the concept of capitalism? Is that news to you? Do you want them to work against market forces or something?

1. Take a disney movie or cartoon that was made by real creative people in the 60s to 90s
2. race swap the characters
3. gender swap the characters
4. and then call it a 'new' movie

Exactly and this is pure cane slop lazy - I love movies , or at least I use to when there was originality ,…that’s the problem- And when people complain then you have actors like Mark Ruffalo getting upset at viewers … It’s like going to Longhorn steakhouse and being served plant based meat and then when you complain, well it’s your fault …when all you wanted was a good steak.

I would be embarrassed to be in a production of a remake because it feels cheap…it’s like Hollywood or Disney has lost ideas.. Everyone that made those original movies should be compensated every time a poor rehash version comes out.
